Packers were acting like they won the freaking SB

The Packers have successfully spent the month of November vastly lowering everyone's expectations.

Yeah they definitely kind of blundered their way into that W, lol, no question. It still has to feel good after losing so many games lately and getting crushed for much of this one.

Yeah the refs have been more crappy than usual this year. I've seen a number of games where the outcome was either directly decided by a bad call, or close enough to essentially gift the game to a team.

We've got to be getting hopefully closer to the point where ANY play can be challenged and reviewed, but still limited in number so it doesn't make the game any longer on average.

And speaking of rules, hopefully we're closer to fixing the 'catch' mess. This rant is pretty good :

Well the refs only played a minor role in the Lions losing last nights game.  If they actually played some defense down the strech and the special teams didn't cough up the ball they would have easily won by at least 7 points.  Plus the offense could have played better also there where a bunch of passed that should have been caught instead of ending up as incompletions.

Additionally, Caldwell was the one person on the planey who thought the Packers would go for a series of laterals instead of a hail mary, so rather than putting in, say, Johnson and Ebron (who could easily swat the ball down in the end zone) he put in a bunch of linebackers who looked very lose back there.

This was definitely a team effort.

Absolutely agreed. Any team should be prepared to have to play through bad and/or missed calls in any and every game.

Nevertheless, it DOES still suck to see the refs so often botch things. It just makes for a lesser product.

It's been bad enough this year that I think the league is finally considering substantive changes :

I think the NFL needs to do something with their refs. Ridiculous at this point.

It needs to make the refs full-time employees with competent salaries and real benefits. Right now, they're considered part-time and have day jobs. Give them real money to actually make a full-time career of it so they can be completely dialed into the league and the rules 365 days a year.

  1. Changing my NYJ-NYG picks to the Jets once I actually thought about it.
  2. The Titans are trash while the Jags actually look like an NFL team these days, so I think I'll take Jax instead too.
  3. Matt Schaub is QBing for the Ravens, so I'll take the Dolphins.

Wrong thread.

This Titans vs Jaguars game is actually pretty damn good.
