Woah, thats impressive when you consider the negative media surrounding the games release.
Ive heard great things about the game. Makes you wonder how well Gran Turismo will do when it launches on PS4.

Actually I think it would have been less without the PS+ edition. Don't forget that allowed a discounted upgrade to the regular version, and with it being delayed so long may have encourage even more people to take that upgrade option rather than wait. |
These sales were before PS+ edition was out, so it doesn't include any upgrades.

True, DriveClub season pass offers outstanding value and sales must have been great.
I cannot imagine toilet-free life.
Kebabs have a unique attribute compared to other consumables. To unlock this effect you need to wolf down a big ass kebab really fast, like under 10 minutes or so and wait for the effect to kick in. If done correctly your movements should feel unbelievably heavy to the point where you literally cannot move at all.

PS+ upgrades started from the moment the game released. Even if people couldn't download the PS+ version, PS+ subscribers were still offered the discounted upgrade price to get the full game. |
Oh, I didn't know that. Bought the game at retail soon after launch. Damn!
That's pretty good. Didn't think it would sell that much given the problems. Although I don't get the comparison to Forza 5. Forza 5 came out when the X1 launched, and Driveclub came out when the PS4 had an install base of 12m.

Yup, combining the PS+ Edition Upgrade and a 10% off your next purchase promotion Sony was having I got the full game for €22,49 back in January.

they let around half their staff go, and are now focusing on driveclub "as a service". they had pretty big lay offs, and there is no indication that they are making a new AAA game.
Driveclub selling over 2 million units really isn't that big of a deal even the vastly inferior The Crew easily managed to sell over a million copies on the PS4.

And a vastly superior game still outsold (and SOLD-THROUGH) The Crew(barring the PC digital sales) despite being on a single platform.
