SEGA Games CEO Satomi: “SEGA Dedicated To Becoming Brand You Love & Trust Again”

The acknowledgement from SEGA continues.

You may recall that SEGA Games’ CEO, Haruki Satomi, recently admitted a loss in trust with gamers with the quality of their products in the last ten years. There was quite a reaction amongst the community and it seems SEGA was reading them as Satomi has said some remarks about them:

Seeing our fans across the world respond to our recent interview with Famitsu, lets us know we’ve made the right first step in acknowledging who we are and where we want to be. SEGA is dedicated to bringing you quality gaming experiences and becoming a brand you love and trust again.

That bolded line is quite a statement, an implied admission that people have not only lost trust in SEGA but don’t love them anymore. Acknowledging distaste with the company is rather surprising. It isn’t something that companies frequently do.

With Sonic‘s 25th anniversary occurring next year it is a great opportunity to put those words into action. What will the outcome be? At this time, we can only wait and see.

This is up there with some of the best news thus far. SEGA actually owning up to tarnishing their brand value with shitty games. I always say SEGA has what it takes to be the best third party in Japan, got everything they need. They just don't use it or use it right.

Langrisser 6, Shining Force 4 & Valkyria chronicle 4 on ps4 and you will get my love & trust :D

If Sega makes a good entirely 3D pure Sonic game using the boost formula for 8th gen systems, it would certainly help their reputation. If they're really committed to this, they'll give fans what they want in time for the 25 anniversary of their beloved IP.

bet: lost

Well, they have quite the road ahead of them then; Sonic, Colonial Marines and Total War Rome II are all recent stains on the Sega name...

I'm on Twitter @DanneSandin!

Furthermore, I think VGChartz should add a "Like"-button.

This is kind of an insult to the SEGA fans. They were aware of the discontent among the SEGA supporters yet it took so long for them to understand? And releasing bad to mediocre games intentionally? Ruining their mascot?

But this has a positive side too; they will listen this time (if they stand by what they say).

I am a Nintendo fanatic.

I still think it's pretty great that SEGA admitted to their loss of quality on the past decade.

I personally never had any strong opinions towards SEGA, so I'll give them the benefit of the doubt, and look forward to what they have to bring.

"Just for comparison Uncharted 4 was 20x bigger than Splatoon 2. This shows the huge difference between Sony's first-party games and Nintendo's first-party games."

Show it Sega, don't just say it!

Classic example of how actions speak louder than words. Step it up Sega...you're not impressing anyone.

I'll love and trust them when they start localizing all Yakuza games (at least the main series ones)
