Ant Man is great. I've enjoyed it more than the recent solo Marvel movie release like Thor 2 and Cap 2.

Paul Rudd is perfect for it in my opinion. A great addition to the Avengers team as a comical character.

The cameos and subtle references are perfectly done.

The mid and post credit was quite a surprise as well.

Out of curiosity how did the Winter Solider not blow you away? =O I understand the faults of Thor 2 but Cap 2? Really?

I won't lie though, I think Ant-Man is one of the best marvel films to date. It balances in being fun and serious at the same time. The jokes are really well timed and didn't come off as corn chunks like the two Avenger films did. Ant-Man and Guardians are tied in terms of humor. GotG always meant to be silly from it's source material. Ant-Man was not, yet they did it so well that it didn't feel out of place at all. I was quite impressed and Paul Rudd pulled it off well and displayed the ability to be very serious and funny at the same time!

I can't wait to see how Ant-Man fits in with the Avengers and Civil War. He is seems a little OP with his abilities completely capable of trashing Iron Man should they ever clash. He'd be able to piss Hulk off and get away with it at any given time. When you really thing about it.... he may not be the strongest of the Avengers but he is currently one of the most OP. Scarlett Witch would just blast him away if she senses him XD

Don't get me wrong, Cap 2 was indeed great. But Ant Man is better, for me.

So far, I've enjoyed all MCU movies. My personal favorite is Avengers 1.

Can't wait for phase 3 to start.

I just saw it, I'd say it was alright, it was entertaining. Didn't make me laugh as much as GotG, wasn't as good as Cap 2 (best one yet).

I did enjoy the portrayal of Hank Pym, I was worried he'd be left in the lurch a bit in the MCU when he's such a big character in the MU. Still kinda the case but the idea that he was superheroing long ago when no one was is great.

I do wonder though, will they ever do a giant man?

Hmm, pie.

It reminded me most of the original Iron Man. Self contained for the most part and a story that focused on characters and a small story rather than being epic. That said, the third act had some pretty spectacular fighting and visuals.

This falls into the "good" category for me. Nothing truly remarkable to stand out as something special, but I, along with every I saw it with, enjoyed it. The casting was great and lot of chuckle type humor and pacing made the whole film fly by so even the slower training bits never dragged.

For me...

1. Guardians of the Galaxy
2. Captain America: The Winter Soldier
3. The Avengers
4. Iron Man
-----------------
5. Thor: The Dark World
6. Avengers 2: Age of Ultron
7. Ant-Man
8. Captain America: The First Avenger
9. Thor
10. The Incredible Hulk
11. Iron Man 2
---------------
12. Iron Man 3

So, Marvel Studios is 11/12 on films I enjoyed watching and 4/12 for ones I loved.

Ant-man was one of the best Marvel movies I've ever seen. It deserves more then it's making now. Paul Rudd and Michael Pena (especially) are hilarious!

The completely shoved in Falcon scene was stupid. Anything to tie it into the MCU when, really, they didn't need to do that.

However, you really think Thor 2 was better than Thor? A rarely opinion it seems. Or is it a case of all those films are just 'good' and none really jump out more than the others?

My guess is they felt needed a fight scene during the build up and Falcon was a secondary character they could use to tie Ant-Man into Avengers without raising too many questions.  I was fine with it, but agree if it had been cut I wouldn't be too bothered.

The brackets are three defined categories, within them is relative rankings of the films.  Yes, I did prefer The Dark World over Thor.  The first one felt fine, but sort of flat to me in many regards spending time in Midgard. The second gave me tons of fantasy elements and Asgard making it stand out as far more visually and narratively interesting to me. I liked the villain and Loki's arc (even if the ending left me with mixed feelings) and came around more to Thor as well.  In many respects Thor 2 felt like the film been wanting, and Thor was the prolouge.  I have high hope Thor: Ragnarok will be great and really fulfill the series potential.

Nopes, it was a very average movie. This is very much the type of movie that the average movie goer will like. Very much like Jurassic Park. I am actually astonish that you think so highly of it.

No. Incorrect. It was an above average movie according to the public and reviewers, which is all we go on. And just because it's not an "Oscar" type film doesn't mean that people that enjoy "Oscar" type films can't enjoy this too. It's a completely different genre where you can kick back and enjoy the story, humor, music, and action. Puhfuckinglease, do you really have to tell people that you're astonished that they liked the movie?

I bet the Wii U would sell more than 15M LTD by the end of 2015. He bet it would sell less. I lost.

There are 3 after movie scenes.

1) The epilogue with a sweet reference to our friendly neighbor.
2) The first after credits scene with the inevitable set-up for the sequel.
3) The second after after after credits scene. This one is not totally worth it, if you need to leave before the credits end, do it.

You're right. It is an above average movie - I gave it a 6/10. The regular movie goer likes silly movies like Transformers, Jurassic World and Ant-Man. Nothing to do with Oscar-type.

I don't think you get to determine whether or not it was average, above average, etc.. You can help by contributing to the general consensus, but your opinion alone does not determine how good the movie was. Anyway, how about taking that bet that you proposed and then backed out on because I actually accepted?
