Oh man I wonder why Square Enix are "stupid enough" to not release Final Fantasy XV/VII Remake and Kingdom Hearts 3 exclusively for 3DS? Or Star Ocean 5, Nier 2, World of Final Fantasy, Dissidia 2 and Dragon Quest Heroes?

But maybe, just maybe they see that install base isn't everything and prefer making a game they want to make when given the chance. Apparently Horii is not interested in butchering this game to make it work on a weak 3DS, I say good for him and good for Dragon Quest fans, cause I'd much rather see another fully fledged classical Dragon Quest game on the big screen than either another MMO or a game that has to work with ridiculously outdated hardware.

PS4 seems like the most logical choice, don't see them making a Wii u version.

If it ONLY releases on PS4, then PS4. The game may make it over the ocean as a PS4 exclusive. It depends on whether or not SE has the money for it. DQ is not the type of game I see Sony supporting.

If it releases on PS4/PS3, then it will release on the Wii U (and likely not get localized on PS3/WiiU).

The only way it releases on XB1 is if MS funds the game; just imagine the meltdowns .

Ok so DQ has proven to be sucessful on both platforms.
DQ Heroes was very successful and DQX is growing on wii u substantially.
I think they should go both.

If they are smart, they will release on PS4. If they give 2 shi....... About the series, then it goes to Wii u exclusive. Multiplat would be fine since they tend to be cartoony or cell shaded and Wii u can handle either port well.

Honestly the game is targetted at Japanese it be a system seller no matter what console they put it on.

They question is will they localise it or not.

This is a good question. DQXI took Nintendo's support to get localized, DQX never made it over. If the game is a PS4 exclusive it may get localized, but it depends on how much money SE can muster up.

When was the last time Square Enix released a game on PlayStation and Nintendo? They don't do multiplats when it comes to Japanese developers, it'll be only on one ecosystem. It'll be PS3/PS4. Lol I don't think they've ever done that.

hmm by your logic hori should develop for PC then, because ps4 still bound to outdate hardware ! DQXI 4k resolution and 60fps wow ! 

mainline dragon quest always been released at the most popular console on japan since hori didn't want weak hardware to cripple him on the development
