Forums - Sony Discussion - Capcom: Sony's ambition is to make the PS4 home of the fighting genre.

To be fair it was quite obvious that Sony was aiming for the fighting Genre. They Got:

1)Injustice: God Among Us Next Gen edition being a PS4 only

2) Guilty Gear XD being a Playstation exclusive

3) Street fighter 4 on the PS4 plus Stret fighter V being console exclusive to the PS4.

4) Skull Candy 2

5) Godzilla coming this month (does it count as a fighter? i mean it IS Kaijus or Giant monsters fighting eachother)

6) And they have the Marketing Rights to Mortal Kombat X (I believe)

Really the only reason why PS4 wouldn't be the home for fighting games is because Nintendo has smash and Xbox has Killer instinct.

And To be fair they are the home for most Game genres except Maybe FPS but with Black Ops 3 being marketed by Sony that's about to change.

Yeah and also don't forget the many fighters that's on PS3. It just got Dengeki Bunko. Not to mention Arcana 2, Aquapazza, etc. Yeah Sony was always the console I play fighters on. It just felt right there. Tekken 7 more than likely will be mainly played on PS4.

High level competetive play has been on Xbox. PS4 is about changing that making PS the defacto brand for fighting genre.

And Smash is Nintendo's only fighter :P

Has it been that way with fighters...? I thought of it as mostly competitive with shooters...

And yeah, Smash is Ninten's only fighter, but it has had other fighters on it before. Though who would have wanted to use Nintendo consoles for other fighters, haha...

I would love to be able to play more Capcom games in general on my Wii U. Street Fighter would have fit in just fine next to Smash, why wouldn't I?

How so? Seems to work fine for Monster Hunter.
