So I started Neverwinter again after reaching level 3 before, which means I really didn't even complete the intro level. Two of my brothers and some friends have become infatuated with it, so I figured what the hey. The whole time I just felt as if I could be better getting my RPG fix playing Witcher. Doubt I will load it up again. Made it to level 7 today. Does anyone play it much? Does it get more exciting?

I wish all the cut scenes are like the ones you see on Halo 2 remake, Halo wars, and COD Advance Warfare and not the stupid in game engine or whatever they're called.

Advanced Warfare had CG cutscenes? But just like in any Halo (shooter) there will only be real-time cutscenes, except the prologue and epilogue probably. They look really nice, not as good as CG but far from stupid IMO haha

Halo fans around the world will join together on Oct. 26 to celebrate the global launch of “Halo 5: Guardians,” one of the most anticipated games of 2015. Streaming exclusively on YouTube, “Halo 5: Live,” a six-hour live broadcast, will kick off at 6 p.m. EDT on Oct. 26 and culminate at midnight when “Halo 5: Guardians” goes on sale in North America. The broadcast will feature exclusive gameplay reveals, celebrity appearances, live interviews with the 343 Industries development team and much more.

“Halo 5: Guardians” is the most ambitious addition to the $4.6 billion sci-fi franchise to date, bringing together a gripping story, deep character narrative and teamwork-based gameplay. As a mysterious and unstoppable force threatens the universe, the Master Chief has gone AWOL and the UNSC’s elite man hunter, Spartan Locke, is tasked with hunting him down. As the pursuit unfolds, players can band together in a four-player cooperative epic that spans three worlds, or challenge friends and rivals in new multiplayer modes.

“‘Halo 5: Guardians’ is the game we have always dreamed of making, and it was important to us that Halo fans in every corner of the world could join us in an epic-scale launch celebration,” said Bonnie Ross, corporate vice president and head of 343 Industries. “Whether they tune into the live broadcast on YouTube or come out and celebrate with us in person at one of our global fan events, we hope Halo Nation will help make ‘Halo 5: Guardians’ the biggest game launch in Xbox history.”

Streaming a global celebration

The “Halo 5: Live” broadcast will connect millions of fans around the world, allowing viewers to watch, comment and virtually participate in multiple launch celebrations held in key international cities. Microsoft is reinventing the traditional video game launch, inviting fans to join in the celebration, no matter where they are located. Festivities currently planned include the following:

  • The world premiere of “Halo: The Fall of Reach” episode one, the new animated series that tells the dramatic tale of the origin and intrigue behind the SPARTAN program that propelled characters like the Master Chief and Dr. Catherine Halsey into the pantheon of Halo lore.
  • The first Xbox roundtable featuring the writers behind “Halo 5: Guardians” and Nathan Fillion, the voice of Spartan Buck.
  • Special documentaries will get up close and personal with Halo superfans around the world, showcasing what makes Halo Nation unlike any other community in gaming.
  • A lucky fan in Australia will play “Halo 5: Guardians” from a helicopter flying over Sydney, as gameplay is broadcasted via a screen suspended from a second helicopter.
  • In London, iconic entertainment venue The Roundhouse will transform into a “Halo 5: Guardians” celebration, with a friendly tournament between four teams of YouTube creators and fans. U.K. fans can win a chance to attend the London event by visitinghttp://bit.ly/1REsmt6.
  • In celebration of a Halo superfan from Japan who has played over 10,000 hours of Halo, Master Chief and Agent Locke action figurines will travel to the edge of space for the most epic Gamertag selfie.
  • A Taiwanese cosplayer will bring his passion for the Master Chief to life when he collaborates with one of the hottest jewelry designers in Australia to recreate the Master Chief’s helmet with more than 30,000 Swarovski crystals. The one-of-a-kind helmet will be unveiled during the show and kick-start a chance for gamers around the world to bid on it for charity.
  • In New Zealand, Halo fans will converge at the close of the Armageddon Expo for multiplayer sessions, cosplay displays and more.
  • In Hong Kong, a real-life course inspired by the new “Halo 5: Guardians” competitive Arena multiplayer mode, “Breakout,” will be constructed, putting Halo fans into real 4v4 combat.
  • In New York City, a special fan destination will take place at the brand new flagship store Microsoft at Fifth Ave. and 53rd St., located in the heart of Manhattan and culminating in the midnight launch of “Halo 5: Guardians.”

“Millions of our fans around the world are waiting in anticipation of the launch of ‘Halo 5: Guardians,’ so we wanted to do something special for them and launch a video game in a way that has never been done before,” said Aaron Greenberg, head of games marketing for Xbox. “We are excited to stream the ‘Halo 5: Guardians’ launch exclusively through YouTube so fans can share in a New Year’s Eve-like countdown moment together.”

Special fan events will take place at all Microsoft stores. All stores will be streaming the “Halo 5: Live” broadcast and are offering an exclusive Halo poster with a $25 purchase, early gameplay and more for the midnight launch of “Halo 5: Guardians.” Fans can also enter a sweepstakes to win a trip for two to Seattle for a tour of the Xbox and 343 studios. More information can be found on the Microsoft store Facebook page.

The full “Halo 5: Live” launch day programming lineup will be announced soon. Additional “Halo 5: Live” details can be found at https://www.xbox.com/Halo5Live

I'm a huge Halo fan but last year's Halo Fest was kinda lame IMO. I hope this year's "Halo 5: Live" will be better.

And for the digital guys, you can preload Halo 5 now.

Halo 5 review embargo ends at midnight the morning of the 26th.

However starting today reviewers are free to stream and talk about 4 missions.

Hey guys - pooping back in to address some questions that have accumulated over the day. I've extracted a bunch out of the thread to make it easier to read rather than quoting a dozen different posts:

1. Will Ricochet come back down the line even say as a weekend social mode?
It's possible, though you are likely to see game types like Grifball and Oddball before Ricochet makes an appearance.

2. Have all the vehicles shown in Warzone / REQ Cards been all there is, or is there more vehicles planned to be in but you've only shown off a few in certain builds?
We've shown all of the base vehicles that are in the game for launch, but I don't think we've shown all of the variants available through the REQ system.

3. The reason I ask of the vehicles is because if so, it's weird that the UNSC doesn't have an aerial vehicle counterpart to either the Phaeton or Banshee.
There won't be a UNSC counterpart to the Phaeton or Banshee at launch.

4. I know that no previous Halo has launched with Team Doubles so why not use this opportunity to right that wrong with Halo 5? What was the thought process behind it's exclusion?
Quinn has spoken to our desire to have a focused set of activities in matchmaking at launch. We'll be continuing to update and expand those activities once live as part of the ongoing programming for the game, including some of the more niche experiences like Team Doubles. These will likely be featured in rotation at first and if they gain enough population, considered as persistent additions.

5. What will the Slayer playlist contain? Slayer with assault rifles and pistols, slayer with Br and pistols or both?
Starting weapons in the Slayer playlist will be AR and Magnum/Pistol.

6. Regarding the Weekend Social playlist addition, will there be more than just one playlist made available under this social banner every weekend?
Each week there will be a community vote between three different playlists, and the playlist with the most votes will be featured as the Weekend Social activity for that week.

7. Why is there no dedicated Capture the Flag playlist under the "Arena" (not the playlist Team Arena) given that CTF has always shown to be a very well supported and desired playlist?
We don't have a dedicated CTF or Team Objective playlist at launch, choosing instead to include objective modes as part of the core Team Arena playlist that features the best modes from across Arena. Currently team objective modes make up 54% of the play in Team Arena (not including Breakout, which features a neutral flag as a secondary objective). CTF and/or Team Objective are things we will likely offer as a rotational playlist and if we see strong interest from the community (consistently high population), we may graduate to a persistent playlist.

8. Can we expect to see the return of Ricochet, (Team) Regicide, Extraction, and Dominion in some form within Halo 5? Basically, is 343i interested in bringing these game-types to Halo 5?
It's unlikely that you'll see Dominion because we already have Warzone as a large-scale base capture/defend experience. The others will be considered based on community interest.

9. How long do you anticipate it being before we see an additional mode or two added to Warzone beyond the basic variant and the Base Assault variant?
We don't have plans for additional modes in Warzone at this point. There is a ton of depth and replay in these two experiences, each of which plays very differently to the other.

10. All those fancy vehicle and weapon variants like the ONI Warthog and Longshot AR, can we use them in Custom Games and Forge?
These are not currently usable in Custom Games or Forge, but we may rotate them into matchmaking for Arena as part of the core weapon set for maps in that experience.

I'm a member on the waypoint forums and this doesn't awnser any of the main concerns

1. Of the 15 arena maps we were supposed to get 6 are forge. Doesn't bug me Much because the free dlc and how good forge looks. But a lot of people are upset.

2. There's only 6 maps in slayer. Ok the 5 breakout maps shouldn't be in slayer, but what about the other 4 maps? Not worthy of slayer? This one is mind boggling. If the maps don't work for slayer than why make them. I agree with the waypointers on this one, those other 4 maps should be in. A lot of people only like to play slayer, so I guess they only get 6 maps?

3. Lack of playlists and game modes. No doubles, no btb yet, no snipers no objective. king of the hill, oddball, and regicide(343's best new mode from halo 4) arnt even in the game. This one doesn't bother me much.game modes always get put in a few weeks later. IT wouldn't hurt to have doubles at launch. Btb is comming a few weeks after launch. No oddball in the game is a little concerning tho.

4. Team arena has breakout in it. Breakout is a very different experience, no respawning and increased leathality. This is gunna be the main game mode it seams, and new people to the franchise are gunna get frustrated with it being so different. It should be like swat only playable in its mode. Also this is the only mode that has objective in it. So people who want to play objective shouldn't be forced to play a niche mode. My concerns on this are shared my MANY on the waypoint forums.

a question I have is when forge comes out are community maps gunna get put in matchmaking, particularly the competitive modes? I hope so forge kicks ass this time around.
