Was wondering what studios Microsoft could buy to fill gaps in their genres.

Iron Galaxy - Fighting.
Mistwalker - JRPG.
Bloober - Horror.

Any other ideas?

If they buy Bloober, they need to change that studio name ASAP. It's awful.

So...has it been confirmed the "Dark Tide" game adaptation is the Blair Witch game? Or could that be for something else?

Dark Tide is an original story, not connected in any way to Blair Witch so it's something else.

Definitely something different. Blair Witch is a horror movie from 1999. Dark Tide was an original short story from a writer, and it's plot has nothing in common with Blair Witch (Blair Witch is about a group of film students going into a haunted woodland in Maryland to film a ghost of a witch that supposedly lived in the woods in the late 1700's, Dark Tide is about a black ooze slowly spreading across Earth that possesses the people it touches, that leaves the survivors heading for higher elevations or boats to try and survive while panic and looting ensues). If the Dark Tide Xbox game that the author mentioned 2 years ago is still happening, it hasn't been announced yet.

Microsoft Could Acquire Two Studios in the Next Two Months if The Right Deals Were Available

Sheesh...my acquisition prediction is beginning to look more and more conservative as next-gen slowly arrives. Appreciate the responses too btw.

Honestly I think Lockhart has been dropped too, at E3 they were speaking about Scarlet as a singular (When Scarlet is Anaconda & Lockhart) and I don't see any reason for them to hide Lockhart if they're releasing at the same time, along with the small talk around the industry that it's been dropped.

It's for the best Imo, I think they should drop Lockhart and focus fully on making sure Anaconda is the best console, especially after the rumours earlier in the year that Lockhart would be weaker than Xbox One X which made it even more pointless, just make Xbox One X the budget console.

I think Dontnod would be perfect for Microsoft, They can make great episodic games like they have show through Life is Strange which would be perfect for regular Game Pass content and have also shown talent with Vampyr and Remember Me. They also seem to have a good relationship as well with the 3 LiS games been on Game Pass and Vampyr as well.

Yeah, dropping Lockhart is smart if the spec rumors were true. Lockhart would only be viable if it had a more powerful GPU than XB1 X, coupled with the Ryzen 2 CPU and an SSD, then it would have been a better console than XB1 X in every area, for $300-350 according to the pricing rumors. But since it was looking like Lockhart would have had a slightly weaker GPU than XB1 X it would have been a mistake to release it imo. Better to just drop XB1 X down to $300 Holiday 2020 and sell it as a budget option, especially since most early gen 3rd party games will be cross-gen, and all MS 1st/2nd party games for the first few years of the generation supposedly.
