There are only 2 companies producing handhelds....
So, automatically and mathematically, one will always have over 50% share.

The NES, the PS1 and the PS2 had 50% marketshare. On handhelds Nintendo always had the 50% marketshare, even with the DS-PSP.
DS: 154 m. units (65% marketshare)
PSP: 80 m. units (35% marketshare)
Poor handhelds, they were so big before mobile.

The DS had a 65%-ish marketshare, what on earth are you on about?
Also, why would anyone include handhelds in the home console market? The 3DS and Vita has nothing to do with home consoles, the DS and PSP did not either. The best way to skew data and create or follow fallacy is to include goods, services and products from different tiers to impose upon completely different ones to press an agenda of downplaying the prosperity and success of said goods, services or product.
PS: The fact that your friend only owns a handheld does in no way provide us with a logical grounds for fusing handheld and home console marketshare by default.
How high can it go? 60% seems too much to me, but 55% could be attainable.

Don't get me wrong, none of the actual consoles deserve to have 50% marketshare or sell 20+ million consoles in a year and a half. I would say the same thing if Xbox One or Wii U were in this situation. Al three consoles have major negative points, so I think having this amount of success is totally undeserved.
