But the 3DS is there... oh right... home console people ignore handhelds.

This is a first for home consoles. Nintendo handhelds have had 100% market share (and will again next gen) so that's nothing new.

Then what was the PSP? Was it's 80 million or so consoles nothing? The PSP didn't allow the Nintendo DS to have 50% of the handheld market share... this is why ignoring things is bad because fallacies turn up and skewed data.

The DS had a 65%-ish marketshare, what on earth are you on about?

Also, why would anyone include handhelds in the home console market? The 3DS and Vita has nothing to do with home consoles, the DS and PSP did not either. The best way to skew data and create or follow fallacy is to include goods, services and products from different tiers to impose upon completely different ones to press an agenda of downplaying the prosperity and success of said goods, services or product.

PS: The fact that your friend only owns a handheld does in no way provide us with a logical grounds for fusing handheld and home console marketshare by default.
