If Vita droppes to $89 I'd hop on board d: I'd piss myself if they could bring the handheld back from the dead

Offcourse they can.. if they drop the price (sub 99$ would be an insane price.. I would mayby even buy one) and do some nice vita/ps4 things.. mayby even make few games for it..
And that is not "magic" just look at last gen.. all 3. homeconsoles was best selling at some point.. and things like New type of games (braintraining/wii-sport/singstar/kinect adventures) New models/design.. pricedrop.. new controll (wii-fit/kinnect) chanced things time after time.. (and we have had nothing in gen8 so fare besides the N3DS)
NOthing is set in stone yet.. (+200 mill future Gen 8 buyers.. still waiting for some?)

Vita could really use a significant pricedrop to properly compete against 3DS. Also could be some kind offer to PS4 owners (e.g. If you own a PS4, you can get the Vita half off!) |
No price drop will make vita competitive. sony should just carry it on without losses.
PS4 price drop makes sense, though the Vita, not so much

Isnt that mainly because of its price though? Hardware wise, its many times more powerfull than the 3DS.
Its game library isnt really bad either, the main issue it has is just its price.
Most Vita are 199$.
If they cut that down to 149$ or 99$ sales would go up by ALOT.
They cut prices of PS TV about a month or two ago, and had offers for awhile around 40$ for that.
Again that is just insane value.

It's mainly because of games, wich won't change because of price. hardwire wise, vita isn't many times more powerfull, the main visual difference for the games is resolution.

Yes it is. Honestly it shows, games on the vita look better than stuff on the 3DS.
3DS: ARM11 @268mhz (dual core)
PS VITA: ARM Cortex A9 @800-1,000mhz (quad core)
Graphics is the same atleast x2 or x3 of the 3DS.
Ram: psvita = 512mb 3ds= 128mb

Its the cost that killed it.
Game wise Id say its equal to the 3DS.

I don´t think so. It might have plenty good games(maybe even the same amount in every genre) but it´s missing the big hitters such as Monster Hunter, Yokai Watch and Pokemon(I know it´s 1st party). You could say it lacks the Handheld equivalent of CoD.
EDIT: I actually do own a Vita (P4G) but rarely play it due to my deeply rooted loathing of handheld gaming (Imo it´s not much better than gaming on a mobile)
