Well all I know is I need that PS4 price drop to happen sooner rather than later. lol!

Ps4 most definately will get a price drop.
PS3 had a 2 year gap between price cuts (with few exceptions) and I see no reason PS4 cant drop $50 to hold their sizable lead this holiday.
i'd give the vita a price drop but may aswell wait for the holidays for PS4 for me,drop a nice bundle & pricecut for the present shoppers

From the Original source's picture wasn't it should already started at last week, at least the promo.
I don't know about this.... $89 for the vita (currently $189 on amazon) vs $99 for the PSTV (currently $61.94/$90.95) doesn't make sense.
The only way I could see those prices making sense is if sony finally launches that PS4 + Vita bundle at $429.

That "nonsense" comes directly from their most recent financial reports:
http://www.polygon.com/2015/3/17/8231217/sony-playstation-financial-results-q3-2014
"The G&NS division's operating income increased to $228 million but was offset by a $93 million write-down of components for PS Vita and PlayStation TV. "This write-down was recorded because the latest forecast of PS TV unit sales does not reach our original forecast as a result of lower than expected unit sales in the current quarter," the document explains."
I rather see a Vita minor upgrade with another proper L2 and R2 button (but at the same price $199)

Its still income isnt it? That says it could have been bigger if they hadnt overestimated demand. But that is their own fault for not even trying to create that demand with first party titles. Also, i imagine this is because of the PSTV price cut. Vita price wasnt slashed, therefore it cant have been losing millions for Sony. Its not sold at a loss.

I specifically said they were "losing millions", not that they were being sold "at a loss". Between the writeoff and declining PS3 sales, the PS4 is what is pulling in money for the division.

honestly no, think that would be the wrong way to go.
Device is already expensive enough. Without a redesign that could potentially make it more expensive thanks to a upg.
It needs a price cut alot more than it needs a upg and/or R2/L2.
Spec wise the thing is a monster compaired to the 3d, no upg needed minor or not.
It just needs to be cheaper.
