Well it certainly isn't going to jump 100's of thousands of preorders in a month and a half.  Preorders will probably finish at 30-40k, with an opening week of perhaps 50-60k here in the states.

I don't think it's going to sell as well as a lot of people are hoping for. Hopefully Nintendo can keep interest over the summer with their dlc and keep a steady rate of sales.

I get that you're a bit pessimistic about its sales, but declaring that it'll sell Wonderful 101 numbers FW is just as outlandish as claiming it'll sell 1m in a month. I wouldn't be surprised if Splatoon comes close to outselling Wonderful 101's current LT in its first week.

Never claimed it would sell w101 numbers first week.  In fact, the post you just quoted I clearly said it would sell more first week.  I am talking lifetime sales when I say that, and I am saying it will be close to, not match.  

 

I layed it all out in another thread.  I expect w101 to have lifetime sales of 400-500k digital plus physical.  I expect splatoons lifetime sales to be 600-700k.  I expect it to do about 200k better than w101 lifetime.  So it will outsell w101, but not by a ton.

I knew you weren't saying it would sell exactly that much, but even it being close is still just insane to me.

We'll have to agree to disagree because with the way Nintendo is pushing this game, I can't see it selling any less than 1m LT. They haven't done this much for a new IP since the Wii/DS.

So in short: Splatoon will have a better launch than The Wonderful 101, but the same or worse legs. And Shining Force is good.

I am so going to make a thread about this once we have confirmation that Splatoon exceeded your expectations.


You should find yourself a copy of shining force 3, pure bliss!  . Also, if I am wrong more power to you, I have no problem admitting when I am wrong, but yes, I expect splatoon to have a better launch with similar legs to w101.
