Loved last gen. So many great games and new IP.

Bro, your post is all over the place. Starts off with why you didn't like the 7th generation with some weak points: Sony putting bluray in the ps3 was an excellent decision which made gaming and multimedia better. Then you randomly start just taking about the current gen, then you move into a PC vs console discussion. Not a strong argument at all about why last gen was bad. In my opinion, it was a fantastic generation that also had it's pitfalls. But we got some amazing gaming out of it. So far, it is better than the current gen.

It was the most problematic but also had the most diversity of any generation before and easily so.

Man Resident Evil 4 + Mario Galaxy 1&2...... the nunchucks where great.

I actually want nintendo to drop the gamepad and either go back to wii nunchucks or go standart controller... like a ps2 one.

When playstation does good, usually its a good gen (you get better games this way).

And i will forever be unable to agree with you. It was the gen that brought us 3D games. Everything was fresh and new. A huge variery of sucessful titles aswell since development budgets werent huge to make one game. We got countless great series like Resident evil, silent hilll, metal gear solid, gran turismo, relevant final fantasy, syphon filter, wild arms, suikoden, grandia, virtua fighter, sega rally, etc, aswell as the great installments in established series like mario 64, zelda OOT, etc. It was a never ending stream of great and innovative titles in every genre that has since been dieing a bit more with each subsequent gen.

No other gen holds a candle to it in terms of innovation until we move into "real" VR (not screen on your face, think holo deck).

That might be, but its also the gen that has aged the worst since the second one...

Is this perhaps because you didnt experience it? I judge every gen from the time they happened, how much innovation they brought and how much it progressed since the previous in terms of software. The jump from 2D to 3D was an eye opener. A new gaming dimension unfolded in front of our eyes and hands. Of course, gaming has been refined since then, so i'm not surprised it doesnt feel as great to someone who already experienced the most recent gens first. Until this day though, it still has some of the greatest JRPG's though.

I did experience it. Started in the third gen. Sure there where great games that will live on forever, but man was it a rocky transition into 3D for many developers. I feel like the 6th gen is where they really nailed it.(7th gen for FPSs)

The 5th gen is probably the one I played the least though tbh...

Ok, well... im surprised to hear that. I dont think they transitioned very well to 7th gen at all because most bankrupted and closed. But for sure, there are some good games on 7th gen. I just dont think there are nearly as many as in the 5th one.
