Tagging... but the 3DS is almost guaranteed to lose against 2013

2013 vs 2015. The best year for the 3DS versus the N3DS release. It's going to be interesting. The N3DS boost might compare with the Pokemon XY boost, but with Fire Emblem IF and Youkai Watch releasing in 2016, 2013 is going to win for sure.

Well, as for now 3DS is up YOY by a fucking huge margin, and the gap will rise... again and again... i just don't see ho can be down YOY.
For the rest, i don't think will sell at 2011 to 2013 level (13,000,000 to 15,000,000), but it will close IMO.
My prediction is 11,000,000/12,000,000.

Tag. 2013 was a fantastic year for the 3DS (definitely the best in terms of game releases) so it'll be interesting to see how 2015 compares.

One look at playtime on my 3DS highlights how good 2013 was for the thing. My 2013 playtime was almost double any other year. So many fantastic games, plus a decent library already. I expect this year to lose year on year to that - I don't see the games coming out that are going to help it maintain its current lead.

Crowing about increased sales at this point seems premature. These figures are little more than a month after a substantial hardware revision. When sales stabilize at a higher baseline, then maybe there'll be something to it.
