Forums - Sales - God Eater series ships 3m WW; Senran Kagura Estival Versus ships 100k in Japan

Didn't see the point of making two different threads for these pieces of news so I'll just post them at once.

God Eater

https://www.jp.playstation.com/blog/detail/336/20150330_ge2rb.html

"To commemorate the "GOD EATER" series total 3 million this breakthrough, in order to enjoy more of the latest work on sale towards "GOD EATER 2 RAGE BURST", in PlayStation®Store "" GOD EATER 2 RAGE BURST " experience I will conduct & gifts! campaign "!"

"[Congratulation! 100,000 topped] in Japan proven to Sunday digestibility 8-9 percent and best condition! ! DL version is also more than 10,000!"

tl;dr - 3m for God Eater series; 100k for Estival Versus + 80-90% sellthrough + 10k downloads.

Let me get this straight, Estival Versus sold 80-90k physically?

Estival localisation when?

Lower, I think.

100k is shipped + digital.  We know at least 10k is digital, so it's 80-90% of 90k.

Taking the lower end of 80% sell-through, we're looking at about 72k?

That still seems optimistic to me, but is a decent improvement over Senran Kagura 2 (46k physical FW).

God Eater seems to be tracked right on VGChartz!

Waiting for that God Eater 2 Rage Burst localization, I still hold they've ported it to PS4 because they want to bring it over to the West.

Whew, glad to have confirmation.  I think they'll be happy with those numbers and series has growing wetsern presence.  My guess is next entry will be PSV/PS4 as well given these trends.

Well, Shinovi Versus did better than SK1, but that didn't stop SK2 from being on 3DS.

True, I think they had a plan at the time to do paralell series on both platforms, but SK2 failing to build on series momentum hurt that plan.

My guess is Nintendo announces a 3DS successor in 2016 for 2016/2017 launch.

At the same time I don't expect Sony to even make a PSV successor so still be a viable system in Japan in 2017. (Also be viable as niche platform in west).

I also think PS4 will come to win Japan by comfortable margin and be #1 console in all 4 regions (JP, NA, EU, RotW)

So, if the next SK game comes in 2017 as I suspect it seems likely that a PSV/PS4 release is best bet for them.

Obviously I could be wrong.
