And, I'm not amused. I've got about 8 games that were cross-buy from PS3. They all look exactly like the PS3 version. Flower, Super Motherload, -- whatever the others are... they all look just like the PS3 game.
Then, I tried playing the last of us: remastered. It looks slightly better, and feels more fluid, but, overall... Not impressed. Like, if I ever just happen to have my PS3 controller in hand, while wanting to play the last of us, I just may play the PS3 version. There isn't enough with the PS4 to make me not want to play the PS3 version.
Dead or Alive 5: Last Round? There was absolutely no difference with the PS3 and PS4 versions of the game. I turned them both on, selected the same characters/stages/outfits, and literally saw no difference what-so-ever. This is the first time something like this has ever happened. when you had PS1 & PS2 games that were identical, at least the PS2 game didn't look exactly like the PS1 game. Same with PS2-PS3.
And, I know about diminishing returns, and such, but-- Dead or Alive was simply ported with no enhancements, other than the extra boob jiggles, which I haven't unlocked yet anyway.
Anyway, the home menu screen is a mess, everythings so jumbled up and disorganized, I cannot disable the automatic sign-in on PS4 unless I pull out the eithernet cable. Download speeds are way too slow and the browser's functions have been swapped. I cannot figure out how to edit the address bar. Youtube glitches sometimes (but otherwise works great).
And, what's with the USB ports? the space is so narrow that you can't fit some devices into the ports. Why aren't there ports on the back of the console yet?
Why is the options button on the controller so hard to press. Why doesn't the triangle do anything on the home menu when it used to on PS3? Because the options button took the place of it? The system doesn't even properly notify you of when a game isn't completely downloaded. And, why do the face buttons have to make loud squeaky clicks every time you press a button? The PS3 controllers were silent, until you pressed those L2 and R3 buttons.
My expectations weren't high to begin with. I wasn't impressed with the youtube videos.
But, hey... My PS3 accoplished something no other console I've owned has. It never needed replacing. I got my PS3 back in 2009. It never got YLOD or anything. It survived the entire gen. My first console ever to do that. My Sega Genesis count do it, nor could my Saturn, Dreamcast, PS1, or PS2, but my PS3 survived!
I will be awaiting Mortal Kombat X, Tekken 7, Street Fighter V, Metal Gear Solid V, and Batman: Arkham Knight. Until MKX comes, I'll do most of my gaming on PS3, I suppose.
