In honor of Persona 5 coming out sometime this year, I am gonna fully finally complete a Persona game, the question is, which one should I play, if I only could play one.

Also just so you know this is

Persona 3: FES (PS2 version played on the PS3)
vs
Persona 4: The Golden (PSV version played on the PSTV)

4, baby!

3 is better.

I never thought Persona 4 Golden could live up to the hype I consistently heard about it, but it did that and more. It's probably my favorite game of all-time now. So I say play P4G, but you should try both since I've only heard good things about Persona 3, which I'll probably play after my new game plus of P4G.

For those wondering why not both. I find the better JRPG I need a lot of time, and by the time I finished either, I will either looking for full employment and distracted and/or Xenoblade Chronicles will be out.

Also by the time I am done Xenoblade Chorincles it will be Witcher 3 time. Basically it would be like June before I can touch the other.

If you plan on playing P3, play it before you play p4. It's harder going back to it. P4 is far superior.

I wouldn't worry going backwards, I usually have clean slate when I go backwards in a series. Enough time passes. 

P4G without a doubt.

I would say persona has better cast development as the players deal with some heavy shit; a death amongst their group, utter betrayal by someone close to them, and with FES, the consequences of their actions after the ending of P3(if you go for the true ending)

but play 3 before 4....some people that play 4 before 3 lost the drive to finish the game.

Persona 4 Golden is the best game in the franchise, imo
