There was never a smear campaign against the order 1886. This so called "smear campaign" was an excuse to dismiss the concerns and criticism of the media. Most of which has become apparent in the final build and in reviews.

LOL "smeared"... if by "smeared" you mean the backlash the game received for being overhyped and underdelivering with the final product, then yes, The Order was "smeared." Just as games like Watchdogs and Destiny were "smeared" before it.

who said it was the best thing ever.  Let me tell you what it was really like pre the Order launch.  A small group of people were defending the game saying wait and see and having reasonable expectations while a LARGE number of people were hating on the game for petty reasons.  No one was hyping it up too much just trying to defend a game they would likely enjoy since its entire genre was being attacked.  Any other image people try to paint of an "overhyped" launch is just Xbox fanboys trying to rewrite history to say Playstation fans overhype things.

No, The Order is a masterpiece. The critics are just too dumb to realize it. They can't appreiciate a cinematic masterpiece. Their only concern is having fun. Games aren't about fun.

By the way, did anybody get upset at the critics for giving Ryse modest score? That game had a good story, great visuals, and the gameplay was pretty decent. However, a 6 seemed appropriate for linear experience with little value. I want to play it again down the road yet I still think it deserves a 6.

can't speak on Ryse but the Order had plenty of gameplay and was plenty of fun.  I give it a 7 while Demon's Souls gets a 5 so we'll see if Bloodborne can exceed that.

ok so it deserved a 6.5 according to you but the feeling I got pre launch due to all the negative articles was a 5 so I guess it exceeded expecatations.  People are expecting about a 7 for bloodborne so we'll see if it exceeds.

Let's be realistic for a sec, people are expecting way more than a 7 average for Bloodborne.

Who's expecting a 7 for Bloodborne? I'm expecting 9's across the board for it personally.

If the game turns out bad it will get bad word of mouth like the Order. That doesn't mean everyone thought the Order was bad...just that most people did.

wut. Have you been reading reviews over the past year or so?

I have. Of the reviewers that i read i dont find them to have an obvious agenda when it comes to certain games. Naturally i read the review sites that i trust and a bit beyond that as well. Theres just nothing concrete for me to base it on.

Reviewers are simply average gamers in most cases. The average gamer likes what most people like and dislikes what most people dislike. I really dont think The Order had a smear campaign against it and i dont think reviewers have some sort of agenda. Certain reviewers get paid off to keep the scores respectable but thats about it imo.

Well, I can understand that if you tune out sites or groups you don't like. I can't imagine any sane person saying that while also reading stuff from Polygon or Kotaku.
