For the past few years, I have started to enjoy scary movies quite a bit. The problem is that there isn't a lot of them. By scary movies, I don't mean gore or slasher movies like Saw or You're Next. Movies that I found scary are Insidious 1 & 2, The Conjuring, The Exorcism of Emily Rose and The Ring.

So, please, list some horror movies with supernatural elements.

Babadook is my suggestion.

I was so hyped for that movie but I didn't like it at all.

I have watched Rec 1 & 2. Event Horizon also.

Thanks everyone for your recommendations. Definitely seeing some new stuff.

Rosemary's Baby is the greatest such movie of all time.

I watched the first ten minutes of that the other day, but then decided I couldn't be bothered. Maybe I will try it out again and give it a fair shot.

Do it! Once you've seen Rosemary's Baby, The Exorcist, and The Innocents, you may as well give up on the genre. It doesn't get any better than those three.

Alright, my favourite genre. I've got a few recommendations.

If you don't mind gory movies, I'm a really big fan of the Evil Dead remake.

For a classic halloween feel, Trick R' Treat is one of my favourites.

And this one is also more of a thriller but it's up there as an all time favourite movie and it's really creepy, it's called One Hour Photo and I'd recommend it over almost any movie.

I enjoy horror movies, but don't really get scared so it is more difficult to recommend based on that.

The Descent is pretty good, aside being a bit slow to get going.

The Mist, the most recent one, is good.

The Others is good, but is a 15 or so years old so you have probably already seen it.

The evil dead remake is actually really good.

The hills have eyes are not really supernatural but it's a league of its own as far as scary movies go lol

Cabin fever is very good as well.

Haven't heard of The Innocents before. The blurb on Google makes it sound pretty interesting.

The thing that annoys me most about the genre right now is the amount of found footage and personal camera style movies.  Unless a movie in that style gets rave reviews, I won't even try them out anymore.

I watched all of those :/

Damn xd

What about those?

Deliver Us from Evil
Don't Be Afraid of the Dark
The Orphanage (more like a creepy fairy tale)

I always liked the Steven King book adaptations (not always as good as the books) but movies worth a go...

The Others: while maybe not the scariest of movies, the tension is wonderfully built and Nicole Kidman does a really good job.
