Forums - Sales Discussion - Xbox Undertracked!!

Actually with the lAtest Sony numbers coupled with AMD's report... We know there were 30 million Console APus shipped on dec 31st... Sony had sold 19.9 millions of these to the channel (18.5 to customers)...

Where does that put MS, 10.1 million xb1 sold to stores as of dec 31st... Somewhere between 8 and 9 million to clients (sony had 1.5 million ps4 in the channel if the numbers are correct) ... I would be surprised if MS managed to sell 1 million more units since Jan first... The total is likely below 10 millions by today's date (Feb 3rd)... Likely well below the 11.2 listed on the main page of the site as of now..

while the PS4 has about twice as many units sold world wide! And a pretty amazing games lineup ahead for owners of this console should make 2015 something interesting to see unveiling before us gamers!

People are actually making up "facts"? WOW!

You know Kowenicki is the king of living in a dream world and making up facts

So please don't take anything Kowenicki and probably Seece(cause they are a couple) say for the truth
They are heavily biased and just want their Xbox to win.
There is a reason those 2 aren't in the Amazon monthly threads and fight here a Xbox is undertracked fight just for the fun of it i guess
And we know from checked Gaf members Microsoft shipped X1s worth for a quarter just to fake the shipment numbers and to look better in public and can't sell now cause the PS4 wrecks it again.
This probably happened to the X360 too - Now probably 2 Million africans have X360s they never wanted just cause Microsoft wanted to dump them somewhere so they can say they were shipped.

I can't take this comment seriously LOL

Hahaha! You know that makes absolutely no sense right? 360 shipments are dropping hard and compared to Seece you just gave it around 3.9 million shipped and Xbox One only 2.7m shipped. That's ridiculous.

PS3 is definitely ahead of 360 :)

War has changed...

Football streaming

Comment Faire

but the XB1 is over tracked ... so what?

just "deal with it"

OK. I find it odd considering the numbers are estimations and I think you can safely estimate they are ROW... but ok.

One last thing.... why is npd so different for 360 but nothing else?

But there  has to be some logic / sense behind it. This is our annual data for Xbox 360:

Xbox 360 Americas Europe Japan Others Total
2012 7.43 2.53 0.07 0.66 10.69
2013 4.07 1.57 0.02 0.48 6.14
2014 1.84 0.71 0.01 0.21 2.77

If we make the assumption that the Americas, Europe and Japan columns are accurate (based on comparisons to NPD, GFK, Chart-Track, Media Create etc) then as you say the only difference is in "Others" so are you suggesting that sales in those regions were higher in 2014 than in 2012? This could potentially be the case but do we have any evidence to actually support this? Was there a big launch in a developing country or any evidence of sales picking up significantly (compared the the expected drop at the end of the gen)?

For comparison sake, here is the same data for PS3:

PlayStation 3 Americas Europe Japan Others Total
2012 4.21 4.82 1.23 1.71 11.97
2013 2.76 3.08 0.84 1.37 8.05
2014 0.91 1.66 0.49 0.85

3.91

Have you got the NPD data to hand (or a link) - I wasn't actually aware that there was that large a discrepancy. Are you comparing to proper LTD NPD data or LTDs made up of adding up each monthly report they release?

Welfare to the rescue.

In July, there was a LTD leak for all consoles from a website leaking June 2014's NPD. It's in graph form, rounded to the nearest 100k.

Your numbers at that point in time are

Wii - 41.55m

Wii U - 2.6m

PS3 - 26.2m

PS4 - 3.66m

360 - 43.44m

Xbox One - 2.93m

PSV - 1.81m

3DS - 12.58m

Hope this helps! Also over on GAF, an NPD leaker said the 360 passed the Wii in October.

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287
