That's amazing numbers. So it's sure now the Xone will be first in January NPD.  The Xbox brand is dominating again in US.

PS4 is ahead in NA, 600-700k more than X1 as user base, and it will most probably win Jan NPD.  X1 was very good in Nov and Dec in NA only because of price cut and insane fire sales.

If there is something dominating, that is PS4 in the Global.

Why will the Ps4 win the next NPD if the Xbone has exactly the same deal that in December ? Xbox One won December there's no reason to lost January. The price is the same and the two games are the same.

Yes The Ps4 has TLOU in January but in December Ps4 had better deals than now and it lost.

yeps.  undeniable.

360 still in 2nd, never left 2nd and will remain 2nd.  PS3 is dying much quicker.

fact.

You should check better the definition of "fact". It's undeniable that vgchartz overtracks the Xbox and undertracks the PlayStion. Still the PS3 is above the X360. :p

Oh, and don't make me start about the 2nd and 3rd X360 bought because of the RRODs!!!

So MS just released figures and they shipped 6.6m Xbox consoles during the holiday Q.

FYI, I don't think XB1 is undertracked, just 360, heavily. (like 1.5m~)

Right now everything is undertracked, the site was not updated for weeks....

however between 9 and 11 million xb1 sold on jan 3rd seems reasonable (to actual customers)

as for our deluded friend who is saying that ps3 is dying much quicker than the 360... I cannot recall a single week when the 360 sold close to the ps3 numbers globally... I have no idea where you get that impression that the 360 has a future on the shelves outside the us and maybe uk.

You are in for a rude awakening, so far all signs point to things going back to normal, i.e. Ps4 on top even in the US, you may see some bumps when some retailers want to get rid of excess inventory of the MS machine (like amazone after the price went back up to 400 early january) now most people who wanted in on the xb1 got it this holiday, maybe you'll see another few months next where it is competitive sales wise, but I don't see how or why it would ever dominate anywhere given whats coming up for ps4 in the next 12 months and beyond (given the hardware's inherent benefits too).

You're taking the bait. Checking his previous posts its obvious he knows Xbox One is not "dominating".

No no no https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lP1Xk2UcQpY

the Xone is dominating ! Why would the Ps4 win january NPD if the Xone is cheaper, in his homeland and with two games ?

There's not even a new Ps4 game available in January

It's like a man with a wood stick (Ps4) fighting against a man with a nuclear weapon (Xone). The XO can't lose January it would be just humiliating. You can't with so many advantages.

Natural tapering off from price cuts? Sales jump initially, then level out. Higher baseline, yes, but they level off. Also, people are no longer under the impression of "I have to get an XBone now, otherwise I'm going to miss it while it's on sale!".....which is what got them to win November and December in the first place.

OK, I see your post and in fact, I agree with you, but I don't see how can you assume one is beating the other when we don't know PS3 shipments. That's what I was saying and I thought you had numbers for PS3 to validate your opinion. If you have them, I'll be glad to know them.

Look, if X360 is still ahead of PS3, I'm open to accept it, but I want to be convinced with true facts.

Well they release results soon, but the dying quicker is already a fact.  To be fair, yes, retaining 2nd place is yet to be proven.

I'm still waiting for something that confirms your theory. Do we have PS3 shipments of 2014 until September that say so, at least??. How was the situation a quarter ago for PS3 and X360??. Maybe I'm wrong, but I don't remember X360 had better shipments back then against PS3 (during 2014) with official numbers for both.

right.

you seem to be missing a rather obvious point.

the 360 is a year older than the PS3.

the ps3 is sellig at lot less in its 9th year than the 360 did in its 9th year 2014 v 2013.  therfore it is dying quicker in its lifetime.

even vgc numbers say this so I am not sure why anyone is denying it.

This hasnt been updated for a while but it shows it well.

Ok, so if you are counting accumulative sales during their first 8, 9 or 10 years in their lifetimes, then by that reasoning, PS3 surpassed X360 long time ago so this discussion is irrelevant.

Yes, by that reasoning PS3 is "dying quicker" but, it "grew" a lot quicker too. That, still doesn't confirm PS3 is behind X360 sales or shipments, even during 2014, by the way....

Well, it would make sense. Honestly, the PS360 numbers were giving me the impression that they were barely moving this year.

The combined Xbox shipped numbers are for September 1st and December 31st. While the PS4 sold numbers re from the end of November to January.
