Forums - Gaming Discussion - If you're doing exactly what you're doing in 10 years, would you be happy?

I'm a level designer for a gaming company, would likely not protest doing this work still in 10 years. I like my job, and co-workers area really swell. :)

On the one hand I am well off right now, dream job, enough in the bank that I could easily coast for a decade without worries, girls are still young enough to where I actually like them (though middle school is encroaching for my oldest and things tend to go to shit around that time for kids, especially girls); the only real difficulty is there is no lady in my life and while that doesn't bother me it seems to be taking some toll on my girls.

But complacency is death, if I just lie back and rest on my laurels for a decade I know I'd end up hating myself.

I wouldn't really be happy if I was a student for 10 years. I still have another 9 years to go though so Yay me

No. Unless the money was worth it. It never will be though.

Hmm, pie.

Are you living the life you want and is perfectly happy having?

If I were to say in the next 10 years you'll be doing exactly what your doing now, would you be happy with yourself?

If not what do you want to change to achieve your life goal, what would make a better you, what's holding you back?

Great thread idea and good questions.

so to answer the questions in this thread:

1) Yes I am currently living in a city center apartment with my girlfriend in a fortune 500 company. So right now I am happy.

2) No of course I wouldn't. I would definitely like to be in the same company because they treat their staff so well and the perks are great but I wouldn't want to be a junior engineer for the next 10 years. In 5 years I want to be a manager and then work my way up from there.

3) I am constantly creating life/career goals to better myself as a person. It requires hard work and dedication but the goals are normally worth it in the end

A student for 10 more years? No thank you

My very first thought when entering this thread.

Am I happy with my current life/situation? Yes, absolutely.

Do I want everything to be the same in 10 years? No. I'd very much like to live on my own by then and have a fixated job.

Nah, I want to finish my study. Sure, my life is nice, but I'm not gonna be earning enough money if I live like this for 10 more years.

Add me on Xbox: DWTKarma

I'm pretty happy as it stands. I think I'm doing really well for a guy my age. Of course I dont want to be here forever.

I predict that the Wii U will sell a total of 18 million units in its lifetime.

The NX will be a 900p machine

Honestly I would be destroyed if I were in the same place a year from now

What should you do to change that? make a list of things you want to accomplish.

I can buy whatever I want right now and am living a comfortable life. The only thing I can't buy is love I mean, I'm a pretty good looking guy... *must repress sad feelings*... That's it, time to buy myself something to make me feel better about myself!

What can you do different to meet new people?
