Forums - Gaming Discussion - Even if xbox loses every exclusive...

Plenty of PS stuff is truly exclusive. Not being cross gen lets them not be hampered by super old hardware. So sorry I don't see that. Infamous SS being on PS3 would have limited it. Getting the most out of your hardware is a big part of what sells a console otherwise you could just get a PC and get the same performance out of the same machine if its not being optimized for it.

I don't mind if exclusives go to PC as well but eventually there will be no point in purchasing an X1 over a PS4, and that will really hurt sales.

Its funny when you ask people about graphics/fps and why they dont buy a PC over console:"I dont want to spend $1000 every year to upgrade, fiddle around with drivers, spend countless hours with technical support, just to play games.

When people talk about XBOX console exclusives on PC:"Theres no reason to get an XBOX anymore LOL"

This sites community is so predictable.

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

As a PS4/PC gamer I would fully support this. Saves me money even though I wouldn't buy another console when it has 90% same games as my current one.

It kind of is, in a way. I mean, if Halo goes to PC, I will probably never buy any Xbox. Anyone who is a PC gamer first probably feels the same way. Now, yeah, I imagine Microsoft will have something attached, like a new version of GFWL, but that service got next to nothing out of me.

and ms really has no reason to care about that.   consoles have always been a lose/lead business model.  lose money on hardware to get a bigger audience the sell highly profitable software.

...if you buy a windows 10 device (which isn't a loss/lead business so money is being made by both ms and the manufaturer of the computer) and buy halo that's a win/win for ms.   xbox won't lose software support even if it sells like shit because (kind of like with vita) the porting costs are almost eliminated so it is hard to justify not going multiplat.

I disagree.  I think Microsoft very much wants that Xbox connected to the TV in the living room.  They get a cut out of every service used by the consumer and every game bought digitally.  That's definitely not the case on PC, where people can pick and chose with nothing going to Microsoft beyond the OS license.  Unless they could counter the loss with some way to win back a share of the PC gaming market-place from Steam--and something like Halo would certainly be the center-piece of that--they'd end up surrendering multiple streams of revenue.

Releasing a console exclusive game on PC doesn't devalue the console if that's what people are pissed off about. Bet the Xbox version of Fable is gonna sell more. Dunno but maybe it gives fans less bragging rights on the internet.

Edit: having a bigger audience on Microsoft's less popular franchise, thus more sales, might make them expand their first party developers.

exclusives are still good to have though. Just think, if nintendo didnt have their exclusives... there would be no reason to buy a wii u. Just get it on one console or pc you already have.

Playstation and Xbox are become services. NOT dependant on a single hardware item.... indeed they are hindered by that restriction.

If people cant or wont understand where this industry is going then its time they woke up.

Exactly. PlayStation and Xbox games on Nintendo hardware are the future, not the other way around. Puts things into perspective.

Nah, if third party won't put thier games on nintendo for multiple reasons why would ms and sony.

I would say it's a big deal considering you don't need an XBONE anymore to play 95%+ of their games. It doesn't help that they will perform better on the other platforms either (PC and PS4).

Will it affect sales? Probably not too much because MS will keep lowering the price of their console anyway.

Because we are talking about streaming and then it will be no different than Netflix.

That doesn't make any sense. Sony already has their own streaming service. Microsoft will probably create their own sometime in the future considering they've been taking all their cues from Sony lately. They'll create the same exclusives for their service and create the same deals with 3rd parties as they do now.

So no, not getting any Playstation or Xbox games on Nintendo.

Edited my post a little bit.
