Forums - Sony - Has Sony and Sega cheated Shenmue fans? Choosing Yakuza 5 as a cheaper alternative?

So sony says in their BuildingtheList intiative Yukuza 5 was the most requested but i really doubt it. The shenmue fanbase were the most active in their questions and polls etc imo. Its seems both sega and sony dont want to finance a shenmue 3 so they rather chose a cheaper alternative to make shenmue fans silent in form of yakuza 5. Shenmue 1 is still to this day one of the most expensive games ever produced.

The worst part is that Yu Suzuki confirmed the other day that, if it happened at all, Shenmue 3 wouldn't be the last game on the franchise :/

I would say its more Sega going cheap. I feel for the most part they have been reusing the same assets for the Yakuza games over the years



Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.
