Ok at first I noticed about 300k ww

then someone asked a question ioi responded

some people were saying wii u sold 300k on black friday

I am so confused could someone(mostly ioi) give an explanation?

300k imo is too low since Smash Bros launched in Europe that week along with EBay reporting great sales for the Wii U online. I think it was just 300k on Black Friday along with maybe 250k the rest of the week. My predictions is around 450k to 500k for that week. Just my prediction though.

Not official, just my interpretation of how the thread went.

ioi's initial prediction is 300k WW for WiiU on the week containing black friday. He later said that because of previously overtracking WiiU last holiday season that the tracking has been adjusted so this could now be undertracked and certain sources seem to suggest that WiiU could be in the 300k region for NA instead of the 200k NA included in that 300k WW estimate.

I would take the 300k WW as the most likely number with the possibility that the official numbers are higher.

ok and then theres always that chance of smash boosting eu somehow correct so it could possibly be more than 400k although unlikely?

Those figures suggest the Wii U sold 100k outside of the US. Considering non- sales for last week were only about 63k it has certainly got some boost. Does seem a little low for a big game release though.

Well we haven't gotten news about smash bros and hardware sales in the other 2 big eu markets yet

expect a good hardware boost there

(plus I believe wii u is undertracked in france)

I think the undershipment of the GC controller bundle is to blame. If you didn't reserve it weeks in advance, you didn't get it. No room for many latecoming would-be smash buyers to jump on the bandwagon.
