You don't think that it might be that devs are more interested in building/keeping a longterm fanbase instead of taking the short-term gain of an exclusivity deal to a platform where their game will most likely not do well?

When talking about AA J-RPG they want to keep their fanbase, for sure, but before anything it's an extremely loyal audience. Just look at KH spinoffs : 3 different platforms, and ~even sales on all games

None of those have been on a platform that did/does quite frankly horrible in Japan. The XBO has an ltd of less than 50k in Japan.

Yeah, FFXV and KHIII are given, I wonder what else will make the cut seeing that Japanese don't like Xbone. A Blue Dragon update would be cool though.

Japanese not liking Xbone wouldn't be a problem for devs with an exclusivity deal. It's more likely just brand loyalty from the devs themselves

except if they use " $ " and make it exclusive.  that kind of move is what i really hate from Microsoft even the games will not sales a lot on their consoles and piss a lot PS gamer. I hope it's not happen thou, one console is anough to play JRPG on the powerful platform (well 2 platform if people like Xenoblade Chronicles X and Zelda )

Every company does that. It's important cause you will of course make less sales by not releasing on multiple platforms. The problem here is that the devs do not make games big enough to go multiplat', and they are used to dealing with sony.

I'm still hoping for Lost Odyssey 2 :(

Aren't we all?

Mistwalker is making nothing but mobile F2P games these days.

Except KH only sells 25% units in Japan. MS can pay for these 25%

Also japanese core gamers would definetely buy a console for their favourite series.

Meh, its too late for them to even bother down that path. Get the big ones FFXV and KH3 but otherwise theres no real point.

If your interest in JRPGs theres no way you're not gonna pick a PS4. If MS want some of that Market they have to make a dent at the beginning of next gen.

It barely been a year, how is it too late?

Based on MS's recent strategy, if we haven't seen it yet, it probably isn't coming to til 2017.

unless the game is an exclusive, japanese core gamers will buy a playstation.

KH and FF15 will sell like an exclusive in japan. It will boost the PS4 a lot and maybe even the xone ratio-wise but it will be like:

PS4 30-40k FW

Xone 3k FW

ratio wise Xone will have a bigger boost but raw numbers speaking PS4 will have the bigger boost.

I don't think anyone in the whole as implied it didn't need exclusivity.

Also PS4 30-40k on FF release ? even FFXIII sold 1.4 m FW software in japan. Your numbers imply 400k FW for FFXV
