Forums - Sony Discussion - PS4 Adoption Quadruples Previous Consoles in The Middle East; Germany Becomes Second European Market for Sony

During the Sony’s Investor Relations Day, Sony Computer Entertainment Andrew House gave some interesting data about the Middle Eastern and German markets for PS4 and PlayStation.

In the Middle East PS4 adoption has been four times that of any previously launched console.

On the other hand, Germany has become the number two European market for PlayStation. According to House that’s the sign of a change: the German market was previously dominated by PC gaming, but apparently now German gamers are shifting to consoles.

Total domination!!

I'm pretty sure earlier in the year they showed data that a load of Asian countries, excluding Japan, were also growing pretty quickly in size.

Good to see these new markets growing, and nicer still to see they continue the trend of DOMINATION

If PS4 can secure China as well, it's over. PS4 will have dominance in the rest of the world, while being head to head with XBone in the US (hell, it might even continue to dominate the US as well after this holiday dust settles). I see no reason why the PS4 can't surpass the PS2 to become the new king, unless Sony cuts it off early.

Well we know why it's outselling the X1. But it's pretty amazing how it seems to be attracting much more of the PC crowd than previous consoles have!

Great news. This guarantees the longevity and continuance of wide variety of games offered. I am so happy to be able to choose games that appeal to me on a weekly basis, no dead weeks on the marketplace (my wallet is less happy though)

undertracked......as usual

the playstation brand in Middle East is beyond dominant. everybody here owns a playstation. rarely do you find xbox's and even less nintendo. the domination is well deserved as well.

Also, clear signs of where some of the undertracking here is happening, lets see if any adjustments happen.

That's what happens when you concentrate on the Global market. Tier 1 baby! :)
