Ok I thought it is better to first tell u a little about myself.

I grew up mostly with a gameboy+playstation, until Gen 7. I used to play MMOs more than you can imagine and have a really sweet spot for RPGs. The first thing I did this Gen was get a 3DS cuz it had a lot of great games like Fire Emblem,Kid Icarus and of course Pokemon.

About 1.5 years ago I thought a lot about skipping the WiiU and get an Xbox One or PS4, but the WiiU simply had Xenoblade Chronicles X, Bayonetta 2, Smash Bros and Zelda U, so I couldnt miss those games.

I am going to Singapore and Malaysia for my senior trip and I am thinking about picking up an Xbox One or PS4, so which one should I pick ?

It is worth noting that I am a huge Uncharted, played 2 of them at my cousin's house, and a Halo fan.

The Xbox One exclusives are more interesting, but all my friends own a PS4 not an Xbox, so should I just follow them?

What games can you recommend for me? Dont like Assassin's Creed, sorry just my opinion.

Been thinking about the GTA V, Dragon Age Inquisition and Destiny. The Last of Us for PS4, already played Infamous SS, or Halo MCC, Sunset Overdrive and Dead rising 3 on Xbox one.

 

I dont want biased opinions please, just an honest opinion.

 

EDIT: I cant get any Black Friday deals cuz I am getting it from Singapore in January. I cant get both cuz I wont be able to get games for all 3 consoles + 3ds.

If you are a JRPG gamers, and love Japanese games and want more third party games play better (on graphic ) no doubt PS4 is your choice. If you like Halo 4 only and a few games from Xbox, i suggest you wait for the price to drop in the next few years and buy when there is a good deal.

Overall it's depend on what type games do you play and which first party games do you prefer .

My advise would be to get the console where your friends are playing on.  I have both and prefer my xbox one because more friends are on that platform to me.  Second, look at the upcoming exclusives for each console and see what you like better.  Honestly both consoles do pretty much the same thing.

If you like watching TV, then Xbox. If you like playing games, then neither for now. I would wait until around summer next year or later to bite on the next gen.

Get the PS4 imo. PS4 has and still gets the best multiplats as its the strongest consoles right now. As well as exclusives like Killzone, uncharted, last of us, Knack, the order and the last guardian etc. from sony.

And as the xbox 1 is selling horrible in japan the sony console will probably get every strong japan focused game exclusively like akiba strip is for example. As well as exsclusive indie titles and free to play games due to Microsofts own policies.

As a previous Nintendo owner, i found going Xbox was a better decision mainly because i grew up with Nintendo and Rare. Rare has that Nintendo magic and can release 1 hit wonders and also has a library of some of the greatest gaming franchises in the world. A NES classic in Battle Toads has been trade marked by MS recently so theres chance to play another great Rare game.  Also rumours of Banjo Threeie and another Perfect Dark in the works plus Killer Instinct which is one of the best fighting games iv played in years, you wont be disapointed, and thats just Rare. XB1 has plently going for it with there other studios with the next Crack Down, one of the best FPS gaming franchises in Halo 5, Remedys next big game in Qauntum Break, Platiums Scale Bound which looks awesome and Lion Heads Fable Legends.

I would say go XB1, I did and i love it.

From your text, I say get PS4. One major factor in your choice should be your friends --- you can save a lot of money by trading games with them. As well as have more people to play the games with, online or offline (if nothing more, they can always bring an extra controller over for a FIFA tournament).
