Guess where most of the online heavy games were selling the most?
Also, take into account Xbox Live membership sales into their sales revenue.

You are right, but its debatable that Xbox had the biggest online community. Xbox has never revealed how many Gold accounts there are, but it is rumored to be around 17 million. At its peak, it was supposedly 25 million. Online gaming on the PS3 was free and so it most likely that it had a larger online community.

Yes, Xbox live subsriptions helped Xbox become profitable. In fact, overall, the 360 might have never even been profitable without xbox live revenue.

Once MS said they had 40 million subs.

Xbox 360 could've been profitable without XBL. I said it on a previous post that, it had the highest game/console attach ratio on the last gen consoles.

Those subs included Silver, which were free of charge.

I do think they need to spread out.

There's only so much you can do. You focus on the areas you're not strong in and it will weaken your prosperity in your strong countries. Probably a better option to make money where you can and hope for the best.

Then why were they included in their Quarterly report as "helping to grow Microsoft's second quarter financial earnings in the Xbox division by 15 percent from the previous quarter."?

Silvers don't help Xbox division sales revenue, so they were not included.

I believe it has been clarified way long ago that the 40 million subs included Silver accounts. I don't really see how your quote helps your argument. Throwing out a random percentage doesn't really prove that all 40M subs are Gold accounts, only confusing me even more.

Just prove me wrong.

Anyone without XBL Gold is a Silver. And I doubt that in 2012 (when this number came out), 20-30 million consoles were always offline.

Edit: Not a random quote, check a link I posted on my previous post to check my source.

I think they are wiser to focus on regions they have a "chance" to do well in.

You know, there is no harm in asking other users in this forum. Not to mention, you made the claim initially, so it's your responsibility to back it up.

But I'll give you a pass here. Here's an article from 2012: http://www.tgdaily.com/games-and-entertainment-brief/60687-xbox-live-users-topple-40-million

Key quote: "Ballmer did not say how many active Gold members there are."

And looking at other articles that report the number of Xbox Live accounts, they are merely referred to as "Xbox Live members".

To tell you the thruth... it is confusing. I think they want to say active online users without revealing Gold subs to competition.

I'll give you that.

Edit: However, I still think X360 had the biggest online user community. And according to the source I posted, most of the revenue was from marketplace and not the subs. In the last quarter of 2012, Xbox division announced over $4 billion in revenue. I don't know how muchin profit though.
