Silvers don't help Xbox division sales revenue, so they were not included.

I believe it has been clarified way long ago that the 40 million subs included Silver accounts. I don't really see how your quote helps your argument. Throwing out a random percentage doesn't really prove that all 40M subs are Gold accounts, only confusing me even more.

Anyone without XBL Gold is a Silver. And I doubt that in 2012 (when this number came out), 20-30 million consoles were always offline.

You know, there is no harm in asking other users in this forum. Not to mention, you made the claim initially, so it's your responsibility to back it up.
