Forums - Nintendo - NIntendo to release a Mii App!

Awesome! This is how I envisioned Nintendo using Smartphones. Hopefully amibo support of some sort will be included as well.

Not really related to the topic but I wish they'd add pink hair for Miis...

Polishing an app?

Must be a world premiere.

It's a real shame that Nintendo has never really tried to expand on the Mii app. They could have done so much with it, but they never tried after they released it with the Wii.

I think the 3DS Mii app is more expansive than the Wii one, but the WiiU one didn't do anything besides being a direct copy of the 3DS version...

Cool! I hope we get the option tof download the pictures too loll

What is a Mii app?

They should release the Nintendo Network app already, one pushes notifications and connects to Miiverse, eShop and MarioKart.tv

I can understand why Nintendo never updated the Mii app on the Wii. The infrastructure to do so really wasn't there. At least on the 3DS, you can unlock new head accessories through Streetpass and Mii Plaza. I really think these features should be on Wii U too to really allow people to personalize their Miis.

Here's what should have happened: Nintendo should have had it's own achievement system, but rather than having nothing more than bragging rights at the end of the day, you could use your earnings to unlock newer accessories. Not just head gear, but shirt designs, pins, and glasses, things like that.

This isn't what investors mean when going mobile, this will make very little return for Nintendo.

Nintendo: We even delay our smartphone apps

(couldn't resist).

It is happening, Iwata stated that it will be announced around the time of the financial year results.

I'll wait and see how it's been implemented, but still think a Nintendo Network app would have been more useful.
