Not really, think they're going after different audiences.

I don't believe so. If this was the Wii I would agree, but this is the WIi U which is trying to go for a more core audience much like MIcrosoft and Sony, but lacks third party support.

But it isn't getting any core buyers on board, it's appealing to Nintendo fans and since there are no Nintendo franchises coming to XB1 it won't steal any fans.

I mean if you had Banjo launching this fall alongside the cut I could possibly agree ...

The winner of x1 and wii-u is like winning special olympics.....

How can you say that when the Xbox One has sold very well for itself by nearing the Wii U's sales within a year? The Xbox One might be being outsold by double with Sony but they are still selling well.

I understand. The statement you made about Banjo has gained my interest. Do you believe a Banjo game would force the Nintendo fans to choose between the Wii U and the Xbox One?

WiiU should be cheaper to buy, with a decent harddrive upgrade accounted in the price.. this means below 200$

I will not consider it so long as it's in its current price range.

XB1 does not matter anyway.

Not en mass no, and depends entirely on how well it turns out. A good Banjo game is up there with the most favourite Nintendo franchises to a Nintendo fan.

I doubt many of those tempted to get an Xbox One because of this price cut would want a Wii U anyway due to it's limited variety of games. So I don't think it will affect Wii U sales much at all.

I was told Wii U has the best games though ;(

To an uninformed buyer though, you would only reccomend WiiU based on if they liked Nintendo games and being $50 cheaper.

You would reccomend XB1 based on superior online, superior third party support, superior hardware and if they like Microsoft exclusives.

The $50 is nothing when we're talking $300 vs $350.

Nice. So what would happen if say a person who was eyeing the Wii U had seen what the Xbox One had to offer and become caught up in the choices rather than making the easy decision this holiday? Judging by the votes the belief seems to be 50/50 on the issue. Quite surprising, really. It was just a thought that was on my mind.

No, I don't think so. People that want to buy a Wii U will buy a Wii U and same goes for X1.

If it is going to hurt anything, it is going to be the PS4

That hasn't been denied, hence the reason for the price drop. My question is how badly will NIntendo suffer for it with consumers since its now comfortably in between the price of the WIi U and the PS4 for the holiday season?

I'm going to say not much. Wii U is a secondary console focused on exclusives. We also don't know the pricing for their newest latest bundles or what kind of deals they'll be slinging our way. Their original Mario Kart 8 bundle with the free game was an amazing deal. This holiday season is incredibly important for Nintendo so I wouldn't be surprised to see a deal like that return with the returning MK8 or new Smash bundle.

What gets me though, is how are we going to quantify the amiibo? Do we alter how we consider success? If the amiibo has even half the attach rate of Skylanders, Nintendo could make a much larger profit with less hardware sold.
