Wii U will finish last this gen, still a fantastic console though. Hopefully Nintendo can salvage some profits and continue producing great games for it, this will give them some positive momentum moving into the next gen.

Lots of things can happen, after all. Who would have thought that the PS3 would sell so well at the start of it's life after all?
There's always a very slim chance of something being the "next big thing", but I honestly don't see anything being able to stop the X1 overtaking the Wii U and just sailing away. It's just, I've learnt to not take anything for granted.
If you wanted to put a percentage on it, I'd say there's a 99% chance the gen will finish PS4 - X1 - Wii U.

Lots of people, the PS3's problems were obvious and very fixable, as we saw. The high price and lack of games, Sony addressed both and saw the results.
You more or less think XB1 has 2nd on lock if you say 99% chance.
Wow what reasons do people have for think the Wii U will beat out the XB1? It makes no sense to me.
The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

The casual gamers were never part of the equation. I'm well aware of that situation. I was refering to things like a substantial price drop, bigger memory than 32gb, and first and foremost getting many more third party developers on board (aka paying them money). But I just don't think they're going to invest that much money into this. |
Casual gamers were certainly part of the equation - they made up a huge market base which has now left consoles and some consoles eg WiiU are seeing the effects of this. The points you made are valid, but even if they do all of them, why would someone buy the WiiU over the PS4 or xbone? If you can afford to pay $60 per game, then why would you go for the cheaper console as your wallet would be able to afford the more powerful and more pricey console?
With no 3rd parties and a weird controller, Wiiiu has no chance at all for 2nd.
Wiiu did have a chance but nintendo sure ruined any chance it once had.
DerNebel said: Jesus Christ that poll result. The Wii U has never left its way to last place and it's still on that road. For a couple weeks/months the Wii U was slightly ahead of the X1 and some Nintendo fans completely jumped the gun on that, now we're back to the X1 being easily ahead and people have gone quiet again. Still, it was kinda hilarious to see all those people take a minuscule lead of a couple 1000 units per week and blow it completely out of proportion. |
What you said- and when Smash has a successful launch and moves some consoles as everyone already expects those same people will start saying the Wii U has 2nd place locked up again
icykai said: SSBU that's why. |
Really? Smash negates everything MS is throwing this holiday? I mean that really is the only thing Nintendo are doing. There are no other system sellers (as much as I want Toad to be one) and there are no price cuts.
