Forums - Gaming Discussion - What do you consider the BEST console you ever owned?

In my heart, it's: SNES, PS2, Xbox 360

In my head, it's: Xbox 360, PS2, PS1

PS2 and 360 both gave me tons more fun than their immediate competition, though.

N64 because it had the best games

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

NES, SNES, PS2

PS2 has the best and most diverse game lineup ever imo.

Xbox 360 was my favorite with Gamecube as my next favorite.

360 > PS2 > XOne > PS1 > Xbox = Gamecube > N64 > Dreamcast > Genesis

PS2, no question about it.

GameCube, so many great games. Also the best for the fact my dad dropped it down a double set of stairs and I'm still using it to this day.

My 60-gigger fat PS3 (upgraded to 500GB), which plays all my PS3, PS2, and PS1 games. Those consoles taken by themselves were all great as well.

Other than the PS line, my favorites are the Gamecube and SNES. Handheld wise, I'd give it to 3DS followed by PSP.

Can't top the PS2 ever!

This will make me unpopular, but i say Wii U. I love the gamepad and its functions, off tv play is an absolute luxury for me i now cant do without. It has some great unique exclusives, the best versions of NSMB, Mario Kart, Pikmin and Donkey Kong, and the Wonderful 101 is worth the admission price alone. Full backward compatabilty with Wii games, tons of Indie and a growing list of Virtual console games also represent value for money.I know its still only a couple of years old, but the upcoming exclusives really excite me, Xenoblade is gonna be epic and Splatoon and Yoshi look great too, Amiibo is another welcome addition to mix things up also. Strangely, before the Wii U both Gamecube and Dreamcast were my all favourites, so i must be sucker for underperforming consoles...perhaps i should get a Vita :)

I'm liking the Wii U myself. It's getting more playtime than my PS4 so far, though maybe that will change once games like Guilty Gear Xrd, FFXV, KH3, and Bloodborne come out.
