The RAM thing is not the worst part. After all, with PS4/X1 having 8GB (albeit not all of that is available to devs), it makes sense to see games asking for more than 4GB of RAM and 3 or 4 GB of VRAM to count for OS, DX, Nvidia/AMD drivers, etc.

It's rarely to see games asking for more than 4GB of RAM, but i think this game reqiures more RAMs & more Cores or speed just because of open world plus AI dudes.

Watch Dogs also required 6 GB RAM on PC, and that was a cross-gen title with a fraction of the amount of NPC's on-screen in this game, and a much less detailed world with fewer interiors.

Ubisoft makes good games, why should we stop playing them, especially if we have a PS3/PS4/360/XB1? If your PC fulfills the requirement and you have a controller, no reason for you not to pick their games, unless you simply don't like their games for some reason.

4GB was usual for port from PS360 to PC, and those consoles had what, 512MB? Now that PS4/X1 are the source of the ports, requirements will go up and RAM is no exception.

6GB is an OPTION. I applaud those devs for allowing people to take full advantage of their hardware. If you only have 2GB then it is fine, medium settings will look great!

So my point is,if devs spend more time optimizing the game, instead of creating false system requirements, they would turn out so much better.

1) I mean yes better optimization should be standard, not requested at this point.

2) Still, That game was using 5.2GB of memory to show off some crazy high-rez textures and that is good. The PS4 isn't holding PC gaming back at all, it is allowing developers to finally utilize those 3GB cards we have had for years. Now the minimum requirement for PC gaming in 1080p will be a 7870, deal with it people (Not directed at you personally).

Ubisoft confirmed the specs, and somehow made them even crazier

Today Ubisoft released the PC specs for Assassin’s Creed Unity. Below are the system requirements in full.
