For me 20 gb will take more then 1 week if i am torrent some files, if its straight download from Xbox live maybe it will take more then that. my Internet speed is around 315Kbps

I live in a place where having internet with higher speed is very expensive.

This will be a tough gen for you. Patches are easily over 1 gb this gen.

Well not if i have a lot of money :P, i hope I can get a good job on 2015, But it's hard from me, even on PS3 and Xbox 360 era I rarely buy games using Xbox Live and PSN except Indies. When i was in Dubai (Working ) i did some patch and download a clouple of demo and it was fast, but now I am in my own country, it will be different stories. but in my countries data cap is free only the bandwith price is expensive compared to our salery and income. So i hope on cheep bundled on the future and the disk and the patch already included.

Yes, strange choice for a US-centric game, as I've come to know that Americans have their downloads limited. I can understand the problem this might cause.

But surely FIOS would downliad it faster, I have a mediocre internet at best, and 20GB is about 3 hours at most. The Evil Within was 38GB and it took me some 5-6 hours...

What's your speed? Mine is 20Mbps hasn't improved in 6 years, shit Time Warner unstable bs. I have to move to get FIOS. They monoply block lines in Brooklyn. Up is total horse shit 1Mbps. And that was upgraded from .8Mbps, in 6 years. and GTA IV on PC takes 9 hours to download. And that's 14GB.

Mine is 20Mbps as well. Either yours is not, or they are lying to you.

With 20Mbps it takes me an hour to download approximately 9GB (depending on my other downloads running at the time).

well actually...

...he said he's using time warner and they (and comcast at least) throttle heavy internet users.  that's why you see stories like this where netflix struck a deal with comcast to not have their service hindered by comcast.   when you buy 20 Mbps you actually by 20 Mbps*

*up to

in the usa.  internet in the usa is suck shit but our governments have given them monopolies so there is really nothing that can be done.

My 150 KBPS internet is ready.

I remember when I had that speed. By my calculations, if it doesn't dip below that for even a second, that's a little over 37 hours at the fastest.

You know, I remember the days when they just included two disks when the content was that big, rather than forcing you to download an update. Couldn't they have done that here? Perhaps have a campaign disk and a multiplayer disk? Or divide the collection into two disks of two games each?

Or just an install disc as a delivery method.

Like GTA V did.

But I guess it would cut into the profit margin, it is better that it cuts into their users' time and data cap instead...

Hmm, remember how big last gen PS3 games were so I am not surprised 343 didn't manage to fit all 4 games on one disc.

Yeah but those games came on multiple discs, no?  The folks slipping into hyperbole here, over how much content there is on disc 1, are clearly being disingenuous.  But, the folks who suggest an alternative for those with a cap, lower speeds etc... have a valid concern, don't they?

I feel like they did genuinely think they were protecting profit margin, but they went with the more tangible cost, and probably not the greater one. Doing it this way will still cut into profit because less people will get the game now. The only people with bad internet or data plans that will get this game are people too stupid to find those things out ahead of time, and even those people will spread the word. It affects a lot of the US, which is where the game is most popular.

Insane. I hate this "ship now, fix later" mentality

Some good news for Halo fans:

Day One patch will be smaller than expected -- 15GB!

Also, if you preordered digitally, you can already download it and be ready to play immediately on November 11.
