In light of the release date of Smash U finally being unveiled and ending up in close proximity to the Master Chief Collection's release date, I thought predictions for this could be interesting. The PS4 doesn't seem to have an exclusive around then unfortunately to add to the poll.

Also post predictions for how much you think each will sell in 2014, and how much each will sell lifetime.

Hard to tell, but I'll go with Smash since there seems to be more hype surrounding it.

Smash U 2014: 2.5M   LT: 5.2M

MCC 2014: 1.8M         LT: 4.3M

Esssh, tough call! I will go with my fanboyism and go with SSB since the games are gonna be wayyy too close

I think SSB U has the advantage here despite being on the 3DS ...

Aprox how much is the MCC going to cost? That may make a difference re number of units sold- I can see SSB selling more units but MCC selling more in revenue

Halo has the advantage seeing as it's the bigger franchise.

One's a new game, one's a collection of released games.

Smash will win, IMO.
But the MCC will sell well too, will probably have good legs.  Many people who buy xbox one will olikely buy halo mcc to go along with it considering how tied the two are. 

Japan will determine!MMC isn t a successor to halo series and i dont know why should treat to it like a new halo game...is a collection with the previous 4 halo,is like a remaster!so: 1.3 USA, 380k Europe, japan 5k 1.685 m!smash bros is a successor to smash bros brawl and the biggest title of wii u after Mario kart 8...i predict to sell double what mario kart 8 sold in the last day of May, because it s holidays!so 830K USA 560k Europe 668k japan=2m

Do people really think it'll be Smash? I'm sure it'll be Halo.
