I've been seeing that too but waited a while to say anything because I know rounding up or rounding down can skew things slightly on the main page. I've waited long enough now to agree with you.

its how they actually round up or down ther numbers that causes the problem.

if the PS4 (or any console) is at 5.1M on the chart, their exact total could be 5.06M. If the following week they sell 80k consoles, the number on teh chart wil still remain at 5.1M even though the real number is now 5.14M. When ever the real numbers cross the next .05 marker, the chart number increases by 1. Makes for some rather starnge charting.

I am starting to think cable is really selling the X1 in the US.

Last night there were both tons of X1 and PS4 commercials during football. No Wii U anything.

Numbers for japan are wrong for Xone (and probably others) . Media create numbers (more trustworthy than famitsu) are :

1. Nintendo 3DS 43.592
2. PlayStation Vita 11.857
3. PlayStation 4 8.939
4. Wii U 8.396
5. PlayStation 3 6.078
6. Xbox One 1.314
7. Xbox 360 103

It's not much, but Media create >> Famitsu. We can see WiiU undertracked by 1K too.

It would not surprise anyone, but I think the holiday effect we saw last gen where more xbox units by ratio are sold in the US during this time of year as compared to other times pf the year. It could be happening in a similar patter as last gen. Or at least, ioi's method just projects it will.

But occasionally you would think this idiosyncrasy would favour the PS4 too. That's why I've waited.

That's how it works the world other. PS4 is always advertised during football here in Europe as well, while neither Xbox One or Wii U get any where near as much advertising. PS even sponsers the most important football competition in Europe, and just look at what all that has done to the European sales.

Xbox has sponsered football here. I do not not know if they did this time.  Soccer sucks.

Every big AAA game drop that kind of drop in second week



PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

On Amazon US, PS4 is really above Xbone by a large margin so yes I won't be surprise if NPD shows more PS4, or less Xbone in US...
