I thought legs was usually >10k, not <5k.

Legs are relative to a games opening week, franchisSo even a game that opens at 20k but goes on to sell 100k would have had great legs. The game can however still be considered a flop depending on the expectations of the company.

I wonder if reality has set in for some people here. Because apparently Bayo 2 and Hyrule Warriors are supposed to move a ton of Wii U's in these next 2 months.

I'm still not sure why people are calling HyWa a flop. The expectations for it weren't high, and its going to reach its LTD expectations in Japan without much trouble it looks like. It gave the console two weeks of bump as well, seems like it did it job.

Xenoblade, Devil's Third, Fatal Frame, etc. will also likewise flop. I mean heck, even Donkey Kong Country is a bit of a flop on Wii U.

Fatal Frame will do fine relative to expectations, its not a break-out series nor is it expected to be one. It will be riding on the movie release for bonus sales too.

Xenoblade is an oddball, it will probably flop in Japan but sell fine in the States. Not sure if that constitues flop or not, and, if Nintendo is smart, it could be marketted as a FF alternative since we all know that Squeenix has their heads up their asses with FFXV and FFXIII was congealed garbage.

Donkey Kong "flopped" initially but since Nintendo doesn't drop prices, it's probably moved out of "flop" territory at this point.

Devil's Third is fuck-knows-what at this point. Game looked very bad at E3 and who knows when its even going to release.

Splatoon, Yoshi, Kirby, and the other "named" franchises will do fine.

I feel like Platinum has a secret unspoken pact with gamers world wide to just not buy their games.

If games don't sell at retailers, they are the ones dropping the prices.

Not sure if you talk about WW or Japan only but here:

Even worse for games like Wonderful 101 etc.

Was talking WW, and I know the price has dropped but its incredibly slight as Amazon has demonstrated, and so the following other retailers. (Amazon just stuffs things in a warehouse, they are not like shelved retailers. They don't have a shelf price, so they don't take an identical cut as far as I'm aware.) The game definetely flopped in Japan, and I don't think it's been slowly piling up much of any sales from that region. Still, the title is slowly climbing and Nintendo apparently saw no reason to include it in their freegame promotion with MK8.

Stateside retailers have kept the price pretty much flat for the past six months. W101 is not a Nintendo title, so its not kept to the same standards by anyone, not even retailers. In fact W101 is a perfect example of how Nintendo's own titles do NOT behave with retailers or Amazon, and why a title like DK:TF moves out of "flop" territory over time.

The COMG thread was proof that Bayo 2 wasn't going to do too much in Japan.. :/

no it isnt...we have never said that will move a ton of wii u,you misunderstood or you like to misrepresent what we are saying, did anyone say that will move ton of wii u?personally i did not!especially in japan;) lets wait the west, but i m not optimistic for bayo2...just for hyrule warriors because it s a zelda game and have already outsold windwaker hd and its  fw it was double regarding ww HD n japan,ww HD did good in  europe and great in usa:P please do not consider japan an indication of bad sales in west...p.s every game release boost ,plus mario kart 8 effect, which is still active!

Yeah anyone who thought Bayonetta 2 and Hyrule Warriors were going to do well, not only in software but in a hardware bump too, were delusional. Wii U is basically dead until Smash U.

you have to wait for the release in the west ,dont you?then you are free to criticize!hyrule warriors have a far better future than bayo2 ,do not compare them!wind waker hd have sold 1m because of europe and especially usa  and did worse in japan than hyrule warriors did...also lets see in media create if bayo 2 gave boost...because this is what we mean 1-3 weeks boost...not a permament or long lasting boost ;)

Bayo2...just proves that Nintendo can't make adult games because no one will buy them except the very few who do. Sad numbers for a great game.

...Let the Sony Domination continue with the PS4...
