Yeah, the Halo thing is not gonna happen. People said the same thing about pokemon for the 3ds and were completely wrong. The reason these franchise are so big is because they appeal to both core and casual gamers. While most of the core halo fans on forums probably already have the console, the mountain dewd bros dont and for a lot of them Halo 5 will be the tipping point. The only thing that could damage Halo 5's ability to move systems is MCC getting a lot of the Halo fans to hop onboard. Either way people will be buying the system for Halo.

You also got to remember that pokemon is big worldwide and halo is only big in US and UK

Microsoft will definitely have a price drop early 2015. Probably $349 but if they're desperate and holiday numbers are below expectations then I think they could go $299. Sony will probably wait a little longer since they have at least two major exclusives coming 2015 with Bloodborne and The Order. They can hold on to the current price until E3. They should also start bundling 1st party games for free. Dropping the price for WiiU seems pointless since it probably won't help sales and will only hurt Nintendo's profits on every console sold. I think it will stay at $299 for a while.

I think Nintendo will start doing a 3ds style of just having limited edition game bundles(starting with smash is my prediction)

and they would advertise wii u more

Smash Bros. for Wii U will tank.

My bet with The_Liquid_Laser: I think the Switch won't surpass the PS2 as the best selling system of all time. If it does, I'll play a game of a list that The_Liquid_Laser will provide, I will have to play it for 50 hours or complete it, whatever comes first.

personally I see it doing sales like mario kart(except nintendo would be smarter if they make a smash bundle permenant)

Halo 5 will definitely sell a lot of X1 but will not change the ps4 domination, can we say all IP that was in last gen will not boost next gen because everybody already bought a ps4 or x1?
Except that your prediction is good

PS4 - over 100 millions let's say 120m
Xbox One - 70m
Wii U - 25m

Vita - 15m if it will not get Final Fantasy Kingdoms Heart and Monster Hunter 20m otherwise
3DS - 80m

Ok, here is my predictions....

1.)  Wii U sales will peak next year.

2.)  PS4 will continue to dominate throughout the year.  They won't drop the price, but do a lot of bundles and special deals, and big 1st party will carry them through with lots of profit for the year.

3.)  Microsoft will drop the price of the X1 to $349 (kinectless) at the beginning of the year, and do bundles for the holiday.

4.)  Xbox One and Wii U will be verry close in sales around end of 2015.

5.)  PS4 will pass 30M sales by gamescom, and possibly 40M by end of 2015.

6.)  Microsoft will make an Evolve X1 bundle in February to compensate for lack of a big exclusive.

7.)  Wii U price will drop to $250 sometime in 2015.

8.)  Bit early for this one, but here goes...

End of 2015 sales:  PS4 [38M]  X1 [20M]  Wii U [19M]

X1 and Wii U sales will be interesting next year...

Xbox has lots of big multiplatforms and exclusives next year, but thier exclusives are verry backloaded towards the end of the year...

Wii U will have a steady stream of exclusives come out throughout the year, but I'm not sure if it will be enough to overcome a big holiday for the X1 with Halo, Forza, Fable, Quantum Break, and Tomb Raider.  Then again Wii U has Star Fox, Zelda, and Mario Party....I am just not convinced that that will do it as smash bros, Mario, and Mario Kart are their biggest games, and all of them will be out come the end of this year.

The dude bro phenomenon... when people say this i think they forget to mention that the real dude bro game last gen was COD. Every yearly iteration of that game completely dominated sales. What the 360 had going for it was that it was the ultimate dude bro console. So in addition to CoD they also had gears of war and Halo.

The way I see it, is if COD:AW sells better on the PS4 then that right there is the final nail in the XB1's coffin. Cause that will be a clear indication that the "casual" FPS gamers are also going to the PS4 this gen. That puts us right back in PS2 territory where Halo sells very well but only to a core base of gamers.

Another way to look at it is that anyway we spin it we are talking about yearly sales of at least 12M. Thats what will be in contention when considering PS4 sales. So far all year (2014) the XB1 has only managed sales of under 3M. By the end of 2014 it could have managed sales of around 7M (this is being very generous). I believe that for the first 9 months of next year sales for the XB1 will be even worse than they were this year, so for halo 5 to make a difference, we would be expecting it to sell at least 4M consoles. I just don't see that happenning.

And why do i think sales for the first 9 months of next year wil be worse for XB1 than it was this year? Well its going to be a fall out of what is already happening this year. It doesn't help the XB1s case that every game is considered to run and play better on the PS4. That has seemingly become general and common knowlege. There are a ton of really big multiplat games coming next year. All those multiplats (if current trends continue) will give a bigger boost to PS4 sales than they would to XB1 sales. What you end up with is a situation where the only people buying or holding out for an XB1 are people that actually want to get Halo 5. So we end up with monthly sales decimation at the expense of a halo boost in the fall.

I think Sony will continue to be first followed by MS by the end of the year and Nintendo will come in last place for the home console market by the end of 2015. I think ps4 will stay at 399 but will have bundles with free games and x1+wiiu will get a price cut. I also am starting to think that Zelda U will be delayed to 2016 but its just a hunch.

And the n3ds will sell like hot cakes and vita will continue to have low sales. Oh and FFXV will get announced for PC as well, but again, just a hunch

Everyone seems to believe that sony will keep their price of $399 next year. While this makes sense cause I believe that even at $349 the XB1 won't match or outsell the PS4 and sony probably knows this too, I also think that by next year they will be in a position to cut the price f the PS4 to $349 and at least break even. Its not even about price matching the XB1, its about building more momentum and accelerating the uptake of the hardware.

Why settle for a 15M year when you can do 20M. And from a business standpoint, they stand to make more money from those additional 5M sold consoles due to coming in at a cheaper price than from whetever they would have made from selling to only 15M.

As for the Vita, i expect sony to silently discontinue it next year.
