Do we have rough numbers for Destiny? I must say I am disappointed there are no numbers with the article, other than the split. I wanted some hint of hardware numbers.

Nice to see kowen's magnificent return.

GAF estimates at 400k.

That seems a bit low, especially since Watch Dogs opened with 389k.

Based on what, though?

The One and Only

I expected more than 10% difference, but a win is still a win :)

Looking at the UK chart the PS4 is selling lots of other software as well as Destiny. 6 PS4 games in the top 15, while XBO only has Destiny. In the top 40 it's 11 vs 6, so overall I think PS4 users are buying lots of different titles, while MS users are generally buying only the big titles in. So i think this win is even better when you look at things as a whole.

makes sense. XBOX has always been the Shooterbox from Day 1. It will always have a higher attach rate for FPS games. (not raw sales due to differences in install base)

But in this thread we have people saying that the PS4 had lots of 360 owners that had migrated there now?  Its all very confusing isnt it.

I can't fathom why this news has people so upset?    Just Monday morning blues perhaps?

Xone kept most of their shooter fans. While diverse buyers migrated to the ps4.

And no noone is upset. It is all your imagination :D.

that is a logical theory. if I am a pure FPS gamer I get a XB1. You get all the multiplats + Halo. If I like any other genres too I make the choice if Halo is so important to me I miss on loads of diversified games.

End of 2009 Predictions (Set, January 1st 2009)

Wii- 72 million   3rd Year Peak, better slate of releases

360- 37 million   Should trend down slightly after 3rd year peak

PS3- 29 million  Sales should pick up next year, 3rd year peak and price cut

Just to give a hint to guys here talking about sales rate.

The official overall sales rate between PS4:Xbone is 1.2:1 before Destiny release.

Good to see X1 holding up well in sales of Destiny, and I think they have a relatively strong holiday coming up.

Better opening than Watchdogs [388,000], but worse than Battlefield 3 [404,000].

Won bet with t3mporary_126 - I correctly predicted that the Wii U's LTD at the end of 2014 would be closer to 9 million than 10 million. http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/post.php?id=6673287

I never initially caught that when I glanced through the charts, provides a lot of perspective.
