It doesn't matter if one feels bad about it because their is nothing they can do about it.
That being said, I predicted it when I saw the obvious signs, and Dead Rising 3, Forza, and Ryse weren't enough for me to waste 100$ on a Kinect.

As far as I'm concerned the XB1's price is in free fall, and nothing short of the eventual H5 bundle would be worth the Risk imo. Except maybe QB.

Thats fine, as long as you except that your concerns don't reflect reality.

Outside of the UK, I am not aware that the Xbox One has received a non-deal price cut anywhere?

In Australia for example, the Kinect SKU costs the same as it always did, and the non-Kinect SKU $100 less, the same as it always has.

If by 'free fall' you meant in the more existential 'technology prices always fall over time' however, then I agree with you. And of course, it would hold that the prices of the PS4 and WiiU are also in free fall.

Its obvious enough that this is my opinion. Not to mention deciding whether or not something is worth buying is completely subjective.

I don't recall ever touting opinions as reality/objectivity.

Agreed.

Anyone that buys a launch console knows they're buying it at its highest price. They can't really complain about price cuts and bundles because it is obvious that over time more affordable deals are available.

Another point I'd like to make... since the OP was obviously written from a Sony fan's perspective, I wonder how PS1 early adopters felt back in the day when Sony dropped the price from $299 to $199 (a 33% cut) less than a year after launch to match the N64's launch price. Was that a "fire sale" on Sony's part?

Or how about when Sony screwed PS2 early adopters when again they dropped the price of the PS2 from $299 to $199 in June 2002, just 18 months after launch, to undercut the Xbox and match the GC's price? Fire sale!

Or even better... how about all the poor souls who dropped FIVE HUNDRED AND NINETY NINE US DOLLARZ!!!! on a PS3 at launch?

Oh know! he's back justifying his purchase, again. This isn't a fanboy war. This is a discussion for people that own a Xbox One, not fanboys of a specific console.

This is a discussion for people that are having regrets purchasing a Xbox One or the lack of interest in Xbox One.

Not back seat moderating, just giving a heads up.

I said it once and I say it again. Any early adopter that feels bad for lower prices later is a MORON.

They paid more to have it earlier and that time spent gaming can't be measured in money. Meaning early adopters actually had the better deal :P

If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Should also point out that the XBO technically hasn't seen its first true price cut since the $399 SKU is a debundle/base model that in retrospect, probably should have been available upon launch to look more competitive price-wise with the PS4.

Free game bundling is still bundling; while bundles can effectively reduce the overall cost to consumers and sure, if someone wanted to sell the bundled games to recover a portion of the initial cost of the console (pointless unless one is never planning on buying games for said console) can effectively reduce the cost, a price drop is taking an existing SKU and permanently (yes; we've seen plenty of XBO sales off the MSRP, but those have all been temporary discounts) changing the MSRP.

But sure; effective cost savings to a potential XBO buyer could be: save $100 by removing Kinect, save $60 with free copy of Madden 2014, and save $60 with a free copy of Destiny or whatever other game a consumer was planning on buying along with the initial console purchase. So a buyer could say they saved up to $220 off the initial Kinect bundle XBO MSRP of $499 (which hasn't changed), but this is still not the same as paying $280 for a base XBO even if the effective price is the same.

And this is why free software bundles make more sense for hardware manufacturers, even when they are giving away hard copies of any game of a buyer's choice and it's why we keep seeing holiday software bundles being thrown in each year.

Someone? Anyone!!! Indulge this dude lol.

@bolded: This should've been your thread title from the get go.

I got my X1 from a friend last march and never regreted it. I was going to buy one anyway because of Halo.

You, do you regret not having one yet?

BTW it's rethorical question.

That's a bit harsh, igno... making any kind of purchase without doing sufficient research is foolish.

I mean how do we even quantify what an early adopter is? Those who bought a PS360 this year would see those who bought it two years ago as early adopters.

Buyer's Remorse, however still can happen regardless of the amount of research done beforehand, so it really a matter of paying however much its worth it to you.

If the "price cuts" instill remorse in a person, it is because they didn't correctly evaluate the value proposition they payed for and that is an honest if slightly "moronic" mistake.
