Metacritic Tracking Thread

The purpose of this thread is to keep track of the meta-scores of exclusive titles. I plan on updating the thread as new games are released (how frequently will depend on the time of year), as well as expand the content of the thread itself over time.

This thread is mostly intended for fun, not as a way for you to fuel your personal fanboy crusade. A console may have an overall more critically well received library than another, but at the end of the day all three major brands end up with far more exclusive than most will ever buy (100 fold when including non-exclusives). People's personal preferences will decide which is best to them. You aren't going to change their minds with aggregated scores.

A few quick things:
- The lists only include games that have at some point had a retail release. Indie collection are (currently) the only standard retail titles excluded. A digital only graph is on the to do list.
- The game must be available as a stand alone product (I may change this in the future; depends on the context).
- Games must have at least 12 reviews listed on metacritic to be counted.

Anyway, here is everything I've thus far put together. 8th gen data, the to do list, and recent updates are in the 1st post, 7th gen and the "top 10" (lol) are in the second. Please let me know if you see any mistakes or have a question.

Bonus Graph 2 (PS4/X1 "only"): http://i.imgur.com/abkpwCO.jpg - List: http://i.imgur.com/u3eXjJI.jpg

Notes:
The same as the 7th gen console exclusive list (see post below), but with 1 extra restriction. The WiiU's early release means it has a handful of 7th gen ports which would generally be considered exclusive here, so for now I've decided to restrict the allowance of 7th gen versions to brand exclusives.

Once the PS3 and 360 have been discontinued i may include them again (similar to the inclusion of some 2005 360 titles that are also on the PS2), but we will see. I might likewise decide to remove those 360 titles.

Notes:
(Copy pasted from 7th gen section): Since the overwhelming majority of us aren't Japanese, localized titles have been listed under the year of their NA release (since it's the largest English speaking region) rather than their original.

Stuff to add:
- A digital only graph.
- Kinect/PSMove only graph.
- 8th gen "true" graph.
- Handheld graphs.
- A 7th gen "true" exclusive yearly graph.
- A top 10 8th gen list.
- A PC graph of some sort.

Stuff to fix:
- +1 to MLB15: The Show - PS4
- Rule VGC from the shadows as a malevolent god.

Notes:
Kinect and PSMove titles are currently excluded from this graph due to the need of a second product. Removing them affects the graph very little, since there are only a handful of titles for each with 75+ scores (and only 1 series with above 80, Dance Central). That said, a separate graph for them is on the to do list.

It's worth remembering (for all three 7th gen graphs) that these lists are each console's present library. The 360 in particular has had multiple timed exclusives in its lifetime which are obviously now excluded. Including them (as though they were permanent exclusives) doesn't push it past the Wii into 2nd place, but they're still worth remembering.

Notes:
I've decided (at least for now) to ignore 8th gen versions. My primary reason for doing this is that remasters and collections would gradually butcher the list, which would (in my mind) make the graph missleading when comparing the 7th gen systems. I may change my mind in the future, but for now this is how i'm going to do it.

The only standard exception (for now) of pre-7th gen titles being included in the true list are full remakes such as the Halo Ani. I'm debating changing this, but for now they stay. Remaster are excluded like normal.

Since the overwhelming majority of us aren't Japanese, localized titles have been listed under the year of their NA release (since it's the largest English speaking region) rather than their original.

Exclusive is defined here in the same way as the first graph. I've made the dots larger and lines thicker to make it easier to read, but if you're still struggling then right click and copy the URL, then stick it in a new tab. A similar graph for "true" exclusives is on the to do list.

Notes:
The top 10 (27 lol) true exclusive titles from the 7th gen (taken from the 7th gen "true" graph in the previous post). Titles with the same score are ordered by NA release date.

Great thread Zekkyou, congratulations, you have put a lot of work here for sure!

But try to move the 7th gen Top 10 listing to the post with info about the 7th gen games and graphs.
Let the 8th gen post to you to add the Top 10 there while the gen goes over.

Thanks! ^^

And yeah, i see what you mean. Having the 7th and 8th gen data completely separate is cleaner. I've the top 10 (yth gen) into post one.

Those LBP ratings are absurdly high...I don't understand @.@

Good thread though ^.^ Looks nice

Yeah I saw it, I'm glad I could be of some help xD

I hope you keep it updated, I'm totally coming to this thread sometimes to check new exclusives scores :D

I'm definitely going to do my best to keep it updated. Also need to work through the to do list :p

I think you meant to write Halo 3 instead of Halo 4 in the 7th gen table.

Sigs are dumb. And so are you!
