Get out your aluminium foil hats guys and gals, it's time for conspiracy theory time. Today we'll be uncovering the unbelievable truth behind the PS4's secret selling sauce.
No-one for the life us really knows why the PS4 is selling so well. If you're completely honest with yourself, you have to admit that the current games lineup leaves a lot to be desired, especially so when looking at exclusives. The PS3 is simply a much better value proposition at this point in time (and has been since the PS4's launch), with staggeringly more bang-for-your-buck.
Don't fall for the hype
People are apparently running wild through the streets, purchasing PS4 consoles at every corner simply on hype alone. Even Sony themselves have admitted to being completely dumbfounded by their latest console's selling success.
"...we do not completely understand what's happening."
"You need to understand why your products are selling well so you can plan for the future, right?"
"I'm asking marketing people to tell us why."
"where did they [the buyers] come from?"
-Shuhei Yoshida, the man with the plan
But are they really?
The shocking reality, guys and gals, is that Sony employees have been secretly purchasing PS4 consoles and returning them to Sony HQ, where they are promptly reshipped to retailers.

The RROD/YLOD strategy for inflating sales was too risky to implement again this generation, and was found to be less cost effective than this nefarious reselling scheme.
"Beep.... bee-bee-beep", the sound of another PS3 sold
There are actually as few as 2 million PS4 consoles in homes, the remaining sales are simply filler. Online severs are mostly filled with bots masquerading as humans and Sony employees on their lunch breaks.

If this continues, the PS4 is set to shatter records and "sell" well over 300 million consoles.
