Despite my bias for Nintendo, it certainly looks like it. At the very least, it shows that Sony has support from its countryman.

"saved" is relative my friend. I never once said it's going to revitalize the console business in Japan. But if PS4 can go from a 5k baseline to 15-20k would that not be a worthwhile improvement? 


I don't think even a 15-20k baseline is achievable in Japan anymore. For a console to being doing "good" in Japan it's going to mean a baseline around 10k. 

Which I think both PS4 and Wii U will struggle to achieve. 

We shall see.

Why do people really even care that much about Japan.

Lets look at this way.

The PS4 doesn't need Japan to win this console generation running away. So it's not important there.

All big console Japanese publishers will have to support the PS4 at some point by default if they want to make money outside of the non-existant Japanese market. So that means MGS, Final Fantasy, Musou/Dynasty Warriors, Resident Evil, and many other types of Japanese franchises are a lock.

So really what would be the significance of a 8k baseline versus a 15k baseline? Dick all in end results.

PS4 doesn't need Japan. We Japan lovers need Japan. The PS4's performance there, and in the west to a lesser degree, will make Japanese games appear on the console!

Yeah but they arent the only Japanese games I want. Compile Heart announced 3 new PS4 JRPGs, their was a new Ys game and Disgaea 5 was announce. If stuff like that didnt hit PS4 I would be really disapointed
