I used to be a huge fan of Insomniac, I even loved the bizarrely maligned Resistance 2. That being said, the more of Sunset Overdrive I see the less excited I become. I can not imagine this game pushing a significant amount of hardware.

Not really. Its launching in really competitive month as well. The bundle could give a tiny boost to the X1.

MK has more casual appeal, Smash has more Gamer appeal.

Smash sold most on GC,

MK drastically outsold Brawl(worst in series IMO)

So it depends, On the Wii U Smash is definetly stronger

But the system seller power of mk is imo higher than smash.

Probaly because of most if the reasons I said for SO and 3DS dilution

But Smash has Holidays (The de facto best time for console sales)

Its sort of like asking if LBP3 will help boost PS4 sales.  There may not be a ton of hype for it now, but it will surly have it's effect when it is released come November.

Nope, in fact I doubt SO will do very well. Insomniac games aren't known for being big sellers and it's coming out in a very packed Oct.

I'm sure Insomniac will quickly go back to make another R&C game as soon as they can, though I really wish Sony would give that IP to another dev. Insomniac wants independence, they should sink or swim on their own. Besides, R&C needs a breath of fresh air.

The game won't help sales
