Nowhere in your comment made sense. Just a bunch of non sequitors. The only thing I got from you was that you apparently did not like my comment. If you disagree, fine, but if you want to counterargue, you have to do better than this.

so when u dont like my comment and disagree or dont understand my point u use a shitty meme.

why just answer my questions?

the thing u try to suggest with ur post ist that there is no benefit form an offical release and buy instead of grey market imported consoles.  and as reason no1 will buy thoses consoles. and thats just wrong.

Read the bolded italicized text from my previous comment. You reeeally need to read and not reply on instinct. I suggest that you read my comment before more carefully, too.

So does this mean China should be added to the "... will save Xbox One" chalkboard?

^^^ XBO doesn't need saving... It's doing just fine... Or did you mean a chance at 1st place???
that's gonna be tougher but still pretty doable imo

Hooking up with Tencent seems like it was a bit of a coup for MS in the China market.

Possibly, but I still dont see either the One or PS4 doing much over there.

I do believe PC gaming is huge there, which may limit the appeal of consoles, similar to the Korean gaming situation perhaps.

But in a country the size of China, with a pretty rapidly expanding middle class, I can't imagine the console market being smaller then Japan's. 20 million people (~1.5% of the population) buying consoles almost seems like a sure bet. And a 20 million console market is nothing to sneeze at. But by the same token a 20 million console market isn't likely to be a game changer in the global scheme of things.

no it doesn't.

games to release in china have to go through an approval process and be cleansed of anything the chinese boards deem unacceptable.   right there you can assume every indie and probably most of the mid teir games won't release in china at all.  and even of the big publishers if the work to censor their work is too big to justify the amount of sales they won't release everything either.   if there are no games there are no consumers buying the boxes.  if there are no consumers buying the boxes there will be no games.

...this is a very uphill battle for consoles.   someday consoles might do well in china but for these first-try consoles things going to be a real stuggle and ms and sony are probably going to lose money on the attempt.

^^^ doubt it will matter, they will source outside of china... Everybody with an internet connection uses a VPN to bypass the great firewall of china... They'll do like I do have a foreign XBL account and by the game on a foreign store.... It never stop them before on PC and smartphones I don't see why it should be any different on consoles... And the rising middle class is throwing money left and right at gaming... You just have to see how they dominate in F2P by buying online currency like it's real gold on the trading market...
there are tones of dollars to make in china... Up to MS Sony and others to catch the fishes

Noone can deny that this is one crazy good offer on X1. What can be debated is how successful consoles in general will be. I have a feeling MS will strike down even harder on pirated hardware in China to get people on the X1 train. Also, could Halo MCC be a real sleeper hit in China considering alot of people probably haven't played most of those games?

First of all, pirated hardware? What do you mean?

And second, since this is China we are talking about, I think taking pirating super strictly will be sort of counter productive.

1.6 million sold X360 / 127 million japanese = 1.256 % of the japanese pop own an xbox

if 1.256 % of the 1.35 billion chinese end up owning an xbox = 17 million xbox sold in china

there is also the fact that the chinese :

have far less purchase power than japanese (-)
are not as patriotic as the japanese in their consumer habits (+)
have no national AAA console manufacturers (+)

conclusion : this is huge

Let's not forget that Sony is also preparing to launch the PS4 in China. This market won't be left purely for the xbox one.

It never was, we can all go to China and buy these consoles at a legit electronic store. The only difference now is they are free to advertised and is backed up by major Chinese corporations. So this battle just turned from being underground into a world stage fight xD
