I was just thinking to myself that every time I go into a GAME shop, they always highlight the fact that you get a free game whevever you buy Mario Kart 8. It's a great deal and if I had the money I would buy a Wii U today with Mario Kart 8 just to take advantage of the offer.

The offer ends next Thursday, so do you think that this will affect the Wii U  and Mario Kart 8 sales? 

If it does Nintendo will probably just extend the offer.

I don't think so. I doubt that most people bought Mario Kart 8 to take advantage of the free game.

True. Its more like people bought it earlier because of it.

I'd imagine that there is a significant number of people that don't even know about the offer. They cancel out the folks who buy the game, register a new Club Nintendo account and the copy of the game for the free downloadable game, and then return MK8 to the store.

Yes, weekly WiiU sales will obviously go back to 30k..

I think it will a little but not much now if they bring it back for smash and mk8 again for Christmas then yeah it will effect sales

This is the best thing about Nintendo being in desperation mode. You never saw stuff like this in the Wii days. I really, really hope it extends the digital deluxe promotion beyond this year. It, along with Club Nintendo coins and off-TV play, is the only reason to download indy games to the Wii U over other consoles or Steam right now.

This would probably hurt it with the gamers, but I doubt that the casuals would care, and that is if they even know this thing exists or how to get the game. But it shouldn't be too much of a hurt, though it may see a boost, in the last week of July from people getting it before the offer is over.
