I liked the Godzilla movie. I just wish that Malcolm's dad was in it more. It seems that people that dislike it are the types that wall to wall explosions and are the reason that the new Transformers movie is going to make over a billion dollars.

To those that say that Godzilla '98... Ugh...

.

Funny Facts:

- this is the first year since 2001 that a movie summer didnt hit the 300mil! By that time only Harry Potter and LotR hit 300m+ and were released in November/December.

- this is the one of worst years in recent box office history too, down 6.5% from the same period last year, and doing at the level of 2008 (with a ticket price higher)

- this is the first year since 2005 that a movie by this time didn't break the 120m+ opening weekend! The Avengers from 2012 holds the record for the opening weekend of 207m in 3 days

- so yeah this is a very bad year so far in box office (but i think it has some good movies and some very good summer movies).

The Grand Budapest Hotel is an absolutely awesome movie. Way better than I expected and I already liked the directors previous work. All the other decent looking films come out fall/winter.

GBH is amazing and funny!

The only movies that got my attetion  for Fall/Winter are Fury, Big Hero 6, Interstellar, Mockingjay Part 1, Hobbit 3 and Exodus, the rest seems a bit poor, but hey that's the season that usually impresses so lets see

Best movie I saw this year: Captain America 2: The Winter Soldier
Worst movie I saw this year (or most disappointed by): probably 300: Rise of an Empire

I thoroughly enjoyed the latest Godzilla movie. It just felt like part 2 of a trilogy to me, and I wish this one had concentrated more on Godzilla and that it didn't have the Mutos in at all since the Godzilla that attacked America in the 1998 version didn't even look like Godzilla and wasn't Godzilla but this one certainly did / was. Godzilla 2014 was definitely far more like the best Japanese Godzilla movies than the '98 version and it actually seemed to me that it could fit somewhere in the series continuity around Godzilla 2000 and Godzilla Versus Megagirus.

X-men has been my favorite movie so far, with planet of the apes in close second. I'm hoping guardians of the galaxy becomes my number 1. Really excited for that movie.

I have not seen any bad movies, spiderman 2 being the "worst" of the bunch although i enjoyed it a lot too.

I've only seen two movies this year, so my frame of reference is limited.

Best: X-Men - Days of Future Past
Worst: Godzilla
